(Hera pov)
Seated at my console on the bridge, I'm listening to Ezra and Grevious banter back and forth in Ezra's cell. Ezra's trying so hard to be brave, but I can see through it. He's terrified. And who in his right mind would blame him? But if I can see Ezra's fear, so can Grevious. I hook up the audio to the cell in my earpiece and head over to the cell block. As I pause in front of the metal door, I listen to the voices in my ear and wait for a good time to interject."
"No." Ezra's voice is shaky. He will not give up Kanan. And I'm proud of him for that, even though Ezra doesn't know yet that Kanan is onboard. I don't know if I'm going to mention it. It might distract Ezra from the breakout.
"Excuse me?!" Grevious is speaking softly, but rage fills his quiet tone.
"No. I'm not telling you a thing. And I mean it."
My heart's pounding out of my chest, but I manage to ignore it. My fear for Ezra is great, but I need a plan before I go in there. But I need to think of one fast, or Ezra will get hurt. Badly.
My comlink signals, and as I flash a glance at it, I have my solution.
"Why you little–"
I type in the passcode and open the cell door.
"General," I say in a monotone. "You're needed on the bridge immediately. The Death Watch warriors are approaching."
Grevious glares so strongly at Ezra that we both shudder. "I'll finish with you later." He stalks out angrily, cape swirling behind him as he launches into another coughing fit.
I launch forward the moment the door slides shut, not giving Ezra a chance to get out a single syllable of shock. "I've got literally a minute. Listen, Ezra. I'm going to break you out of here. Wait for my signal. Also, Kanan is here. We'll come to you. Alright?" I mention Kanan only to hopefully, put Ezra's mind at ease a little bit.
"Kanan's here? Is he okay?!" Ezra exclaims.
"Shhh!!" I look behind sharply. "He is, and yeah, he will be. But I've gotta go. Stay put!" I sprint towards the door.
"Wait! What, do you mean, he will be? Hera!" He hisses, but it's too late. I'm gone again, trailing after Grevious. But now, my thoughts are consumed with Ezra and the crew. I'm too worried about Kanan, and if Ezra will do something reckless, and where everyone else is. And besides that, the thought of if my entire crew will even be back together again, much less in our own timeline. Will we actually make it out alive?
Thank the Force I'm not undercover under an Inquisitor's or a Sith Lord's command. Otherwise, they'd be able to hear my thoughts easily through the Force, they're so loud with terror.
