(Sabine pov)

My first thought when I wake up is: Man, my back hurts.

Then I remember what happened.

My eyes snap open.

I sit up quickly and look around. I'm in a bedroom aboard a starship. Zeb. Vizsla. My mother. Stun bolt. Zeb. The thoughts race through my head and I'm up and running immediately. Screw pain. I open the door to the bedroom and am met with an armed Mando guard pointing a blaster at my head.

"I'm sorry, but you're not allowed to leave until I am ordered to allow you to." The guard states.

Fine then.

Mere seconds later, he's on the ground unconscious and I have a blaster in my holster as I run down the ramp onto a STAR DESTROYER. Karabast. But I can't let anything stop me from reaching and freeing Zeb. Nothing will stop me. I refuse to let my friend die.

I sped walk through corridor after corridor. No one stops or questions me. The other Death Watch must be onboard, then, and they sure aren't enemies. They're mistaking me for an ally.

Well, I'm done pretending to be a Death Watch warrior. I'm nothing like my mother, and this whole thing is making me sick.

I round a corner and slam straight into my mother.

"Sabine?" She eyes me in surprise. Her helmet's on, and I'm glad I don't have to se her face. It'll make this easier.

"Where's the Lasat?" My blaster's at her head instantly. Her hand moves away from her own weapon, where it had begun to creep towards instinctively. "Answer me."

"In a prison cell. I don't know which one."

"And?"

"And what?"

"What are they going to do with him?" We're starting to attract attention. I need to hurry up. I move the blaster closer to her forehead. "Make it quick and I'll only stun you." My tone is blank, emotionless, and I'm pretending like I actually will kill her. But of course I wouldn't, because then I would die too, having then ceased to exist. If it was somebody else, maybe, just maybe. But I like living.

She must decide that she doesn't want to "die", because she stops stalling. "Interrogate him, then execute him on a live Holonet channel. He's to be an example to the Republicans."

"Thanks." I hesitate for only a second before stunning her. As her body falls to the floor and alarms go off around me, I crouch down and take her weapons. Then, as if she could hear me, I whisper four words to her unconscious self. "I love you, Mom."

Then I take off to find Zeb, weapons in hand.
