Chapter II
Holding hands with this guy doesn't feel awkward at all, considering her blurry vision and the guy is still a stranger, Sky thought. They were silent until they reached the shop.
"Hi please check her eyes, she lost her contacts on the way." the guy told the lady at the store with urgency.
"Opo sir, dito po tayo ma'am."
"Do you need me to go with you?" the guy asked with such concern she was nearly touched by the gesture.
She smiled "You don't have to, thank you for the company, gravely appreciated. Please be on your way ayaw na kitang abalahin pa."
"If you say so, go she's waiting for you."
Sumama na siya sa babae at pagkatapos siyang macheck binigay na sa kanya ang isang pares ng lens na sukat sa grado niya. She went to the cashier pero sabi ng babae binayaran na daw ng kasama niya. She immediately went outside and was disappointed hindi nga pala niya nakita ng maayos ang mukha nung lalaki. Pero natatandaan niya nakablack na V-neck yung guy at shoulder length ang buhok. She saw him just outside the shop, nakatalikod yung lalaki habang hawak ang may kalakihang canvas.
"Excuse me?" alanganing tanong niya.
Humarap ang lalaki "Hi captain! are you ok now?"
Sky was taken aback. Nagulat siya hindi naman niya inasahan na ganito pala kapleasant ang smile ng stranger na tumulong sa kaniya. He's tall, probably 6 footer so she have to look up to him for her to see his face. He have those eyes, ones that seems to see through the soul, paired with his jet black hair, which only made it look deeper and darker as he look intently at her. Kung kanina comfortable siya sa presence nito parang ngayon nawala atang bigla at napalitan ng uneasiness.
"yeah ahm thanks nga pla but you don't have to pay it's an accident err-- wait" she pulls out a couple of hundreds from her wallet "here please take this" she smiled as she held out her hand.
The stranger smiled back and grabs her hand but only to close it. "I'm Hunter. what's your name captain?"
Hindi na niya ipinilit dahil baka masira pa ang smile ni Hunter. "Sky. So this is the ship huh?" sabay turo sa canvas na hawak nito.
"Yeah I was texting awhile ago I didn't notice I reached the corner. Sorry It was all my fault." Apologetic na sabi ni Hunter.
"It's ok wala nman aqng nacatch na injury."
"yeah but you should be careful as well, especially around the corners. What you can't see might hurt you."
"true." she can't help but smile. There's something about him that gives her the feeling of cheerfulness, feeling niya energized siya kahit pa may sugat siya at namumula pa ang noo niya.
"hey are you going somewhere? 'cause if not care to grab a drink?"
"tempting but I'll pass I was just strolling around but I need to go home now."
"is that so? hmm do you live nearby?"
"yeah malapit sa park. Salamat ulit. Ciao!"
"okay I'll see yah."
She turned to go and head on her way
"hey wait! I forgot to ask for your number captain.." but she's far enough to hear it.
Masaya siyang umuwi ng bahay knowing na may nameet siya. Hmm she can't help but smile as she remember those eyes. Round with thick lashes. deep and dark but nonetheless captivating.
