Chapter XXVII
"Finally, I thought I'll wait for you all night." Bungad ni Vincent sa kakababa lang ng kotseng si Sky
"Vincent! Gabi na ah bakit nandito ka lang sa garahe?"
"Oh at least you knew it's late."
"Is everything alright?" Tanong ni Hunter na kasunod lang pala ni Sky
"Nothing's alright. We need to talk."
"May nangyari ba?" Litong tanong parin ni Sky
"He happened." Turo pa ni Vincent kay Hunter. "Come on this talk is long overdue."
"You know you can talk to me if it's about me." Sagot naman ni Hunter
"Honestly, I don't care about you. I don't know you, SHE doesn't know you that's my only concern so if you'll excuse us."
Sky saw Hunter was just trying to hold himself back and she's not sure if he can hold it any longer.
"FINE." Inis na sabi ni Sky at bumaling kay Hunter habang si Vincent naman ay tumalikod na at nagsimulang lumakad palayo.
"It's ok I'll go and talk to him. Thank you for tonight though." Sky gave him a reassuring smile.
"Are you sure? I can go with you if you're uncomfortable to talk to him "
"Of 'course she'll be comfortable with me I'm with her all her life. Funny 'twas coming from you, whom she just met 72hrs ago." Narinig pa pala yun ni Vincent dahilan para bumalik ito.
"I understand but how can someone be at ease if you're acting like that?"
"It's not for you to find out. You really want me to rub it in your face huh? Like I said I don't CARE about you. What you think is none of my business." Vincent was very intimidating but Hunter didn't back out
"I know. For whatever reason you have for behaving like that, doesn't concern me as well. I'm just worried about Sky"
"Im worried about her too because of you."
"Sorry what did you say?!"
"I said I'm worried about her BECAUSE OF YOU." Vincent said as both of them made their way closer to each other, sizing each other up without breaking eye contact.
Hindi na napigilan ni Sky at pumagitna na siya bago pa mangyari ang obvious na mangyayari.
"Ui Vincent tama na. Okay lang Hunter maguusap lang naman kami."
Hunter tilted his head a bit and was back to his normal self and gave her a brief smile before turning his back and walking away.
Sky turned to Vincent who's still wearing a grim expression on his face. He's standing close to her so when he moved his feet forward she felt the urge to take a step back.
"What are you afraid of? It's not like I'm going to hurt you."
"You already knew you're scary. Angry or not you can be very intimidating."
"Drop it. C'mon."
Wala ng nagawa si Sky kundi ang tumahimik at sumunod na lang.
He led her to the back porch of the house. It was dark but he didn't bother to open the lights. They just sat side by side on the porch steps..
"What are you doing Sky?" Vincent asked, not taking his eyes off the dark end of the beach
"What do you mean?"
"You're too trusting."
"Vince, Hunter's nice. You just gotta give him a chance."
"You don't know that yet." Stubborn na sabi naman ni Vincent.
"Partly correct but you don't know him either. Why are you being like that? Honestly he didn't do anything for you to be suspicious about him."
"You're so naive."
"Ano? Sino sa palagay mo ang umaastang bata ngayon?"
"You know nothing 'cause you're sheltered all your life. You don't have any idea how dangerous it is out there."
"Nakakainis ka na ah. I knew you just cared but REALLY? This is what I get for making new friends?"
"Friends? Last time I check friends don't date."
"Friendly date." Pangangatwiran naman ni Sky
"Yeah. Friendly kiss?" Vincent said in a very low voice.
Sky immediately blushed. That totally shut her up.
