Chapter 6 : Cruel brothers do exist
"What do you say?" he whispered, trailing his fingers, which were holding wads of money, down my arms. I glanced at him deliberately slowing the process as I trailed a finger down his chest with a small innocent smile,
"Or maybe..." I rose on my toes, whispering, so that my breath could fan his ear. He groaned and was about to circle his arms around me when I stepped back and grabbed his collars roughly, "You can shove the money down your pants and ship your behind back where you came from!" I hissed, shoving the duke on the bed he had attempted on convincing me on with his pathetic money. "This is not your local whorehouse."
Disgusted, I spun around about to leave when he snorted, "You think you're all beautiful and gorgeous, don't you?" I smirked, oh the ever so speech after the hurt ego. I spun with a flourish,
"I don't think," I stepped closer to him, "I know. And if you had anything in that noggin, you would know that being a gentleman and pretending to be one have quite a bit of difference." he glared at me as he straightened himself and stood up, looming over me.
"You think you're going to get away with your words, servant?" he hissed angrily, "I am Duke of Ashville, what are you? A mere servant? I could ruin you within seconds and you would be unable to do anything about it." he snarled.
Maybe its because I've grown up with all brothers, or without the guidance of a proper father and mother - not that Anne isn't, but she treats me like a I'm a Goddess - but that moment it did not matter to me how unlady-like and innappropriate it was, but I swung him around knocked him unconsious within seconds. Fuming, I stomped in anger and stalked out of the room,
"John!" I cried into the hall, "Someone please call John right now!"
"Arry!" John's familiar voice snapped from behind me, and I turned to face him while he burst in anger, "Would you quit shouting? What if father, or anyone else heard you?" he glared and I scowled,
"I do not care! Remove that imbecile of man out of the room before I start running ammuck screaming!" I pointed inside the room and he turned with a confused look to look inside the room. His eyes widened and he grabbed his hair in fists,
"Arabella!" He shouted in shock and dread, streaked with anger. His face grew red as he turned towards me, "When will you learn to keep your anger under control? What do you not understand about your unlady-like tactics? Do you want to attract father's attention?" He growled and I glared, breathing in and out, attempting to control my bubbling anger,
"When will you learn to make the right friends, Johnny? That's the question. Your Duke friend over here tried convincing me onto the bed by flipping money in my face! What do you expect a lady to do?" I feigned a hurt face and watched his face turn from horror to a comical face,
"A lady? You have to be jesting." he shook his head at my wide grin and walked into the room. I stood in the doorway as he dragged his friend to his designated room that he had strayed from, waiting until he woke up so that John could convince him he had fallen asleep and dreamed everything. I followed and smirked as he threw the Duke on the bed with a disgusted huff, muttering under his breath. He walked out and shut the door behind him, folding his arms as he turned to face me. I smiled angelically, clasping my hands in front of me, waiting for him to say something. When he continued to watch me with a observant face, I stilled.
I sighed with defeat, "They are attracted to my God given beauty, John." I did a flourish hand movement in the air, "If you want to prevent such circumstances, then I will need constant watching. I cannot help stopping their reaction, or mine in fact." I flashed him a smile. John laughed and was about to reply when he was cut off.
