Chapter 45

I walked into my third period class, seeing Rachel and Liz in the back corner. They were lost in conversation before Rachel looked over towards me, her straight face turned into a large smile. "Hey beautiful," Elizabeth giggled as she hugged me tightly, rocking our bodies side to side. "Why haven't you texted me? We haven't seen each other in so long!," she exclaimed as I chuckled, "I know, I know I'm sorry, I've just been so caught up in everything it's been hard to make plans." Lies. I'm with Wes 24/7 I never seem to make plans with anyone else. "Well we need to hang out," Rachel demanded with a slight giggle as I nodded, "agreed." I missed them, not going to lie. I really do need some girl time. I found an open seat as Rachel sat in the seat to my left and Liz sat in the seat behind her. I looked past Rachel to see Shaina, someone I haven't seen, or even thought about in a few months. She was staring me down, like I was an insect or something. Did I do something wrong? I mean, I understand Wes broke up with her and now I'm his girlfriend but give me a break. She looked away, looking at the teacher as he began to speak, "Hello class, my name is Mr. Nappi and I'm your math teacher for this year." He was young, probably in his early twenties and he was quite attractive. He was tall and had dark brown hair that was spiked up a little in the front. He began going over rules and the requirements for the year and blah blah blah. I wasn't really paying attention, my mind was elsewhere as that bad feeling still roamed around through my head. I was staring at the floor until Rachel tapped my shoulder with the end of her pen. "Are you okay?," she mouthed quietly as I nodded, "tired." She laughed slightly before turning back towards Mr. Nappi. I sighed before I grabbed my pen and began to doodle on the page he handed to us in the beginning of the period.

So today ended up being a boring school day like any other. Is it bad that I already wanted the school year to end? I met up with Wes by new locker, where Emily and Keaton were already standing. "Hey babe," he smiled before kissing my cheek, grabbing a binder from his bag and placing it inside the locker. "How'd your first day go?," I asked generally, as Keaton was the first to answer, "great, I made a new friend, his name is Tyler." He smiled slightly before I turned to Emily. "Pretty great for me too, all my teachers are really nice," she said as she looked through her folder for all the papers our mom will have to sign and bring back for our teachers. I nodded before turning to Wes, "and you?" He shrugged, "it was fine, what sucks is that Shaina is in my first period class, but at least we have quite a few classes together," he smiled. So that explains why she was giving me the death stare. "She's in my third period class," I mentioned, completely ignoring the second part of his answer, as he quickly looked up at me, "really? Did she say anything to you?" I shook my head, "no she just glared at me the whole time." I laughed as I remembered one point during the period when Mr. Nappi told her to pay attention. "I hope she doesn't mess around with you, she has that kind of personality," he warned me as I waved him off, "who cares? She's not worth my time."

I parked in my usual spot in front of my house as Emily hopped out. We stepped inside as I saw my dad sitting on the couch. I didn't even say hi, I went straight upstairs and called for Emily to come with me. "Do you want to hang out with Liz and Rachel tonight?," I asked her as she nodded, "sure, what time?" I shrugged, making up a time in my head, "7:00?" She nodded again, "alright cool, I'll start getting ready in a little bit." I smiled and walked into my room, throwing my bag and my folder in my dresser and laid down on my bed. I unlocked my phone and started a group chat with Liz and Rachel, and asked them if they wanted to hang out. They both agreed as we thought about where we wanted to go, and I was happy I decided to make plans. But, still lingering in the back of my mind was the familiar bad feeling that's hasn't gone away since this morning.
