"Ugh, I don't understand this!" I yelled as I hit my head on the desk. I heard Mikaela pull up a chair next to me as he looked at the problem.

"Yu?"

"What?" I asked, my head still on the desk. "The answer is 12." He said. My head shot up as I looked at the computer. "I KNEW IT!!" I yelled, pointing at the computer. He laughed as I ferociously typed in the answer. "The problem wasn't even that hard." He said, looking at the next problem. "It is for me. Im surprised that I made it to a second-year student." I said. He smiled and rested his head on my shoulder.

"Hey you should probably take a shower. Guren said you made the house smell like salt water." I said, laughing quietly.

"Alright. The one upstairs?"

"Yeah. You know how to use it?"

"Yes, I do." He said and walked upstairs. I heard the door close and I went back to my school work. Someone knocked at the door and I heard a voice. "Yuichiro? Are you home? I brought you mackerel!" Yoichi said, cheerfully. "It's unlocked!" I yelled, closing the school program. The door opened and Yoichi walked in. "Hey Yoichi." I said, walking towards him.

"Hi Yuichiro!" He said in return and gave me one of his great, big smiles.

I swear this kid is a walking, talking cinnamon roll.

"Where's Mr. Ichinose and Shiho?" He asked, sitting on the couch. "Kimizuki had a volleyball tournament in Nagoya." I said cooking the mackerel. After I finished, I sat down next to him and began to eat. "Want some?" I asked. "No thanks. I ate before I came over."

Then there was a huge crash from upstairs. "Uh Yuichiro? Get up here. And fast!" Mika yelled. I put my plate down and rushed upstairs, Yoichi following close behind. I opened the bathroom door and saw Mika sitting in the tub, his legs being covered by the shower curtain. "What happened?" I asked, rushing over to him. He moved the shower curtain out of the way. "My tail is back!"

I backed up as I stared at his tail, shocked.

"You're the one who took the mermaid?!" Yoichi asked, looking at Mika. "Look, it's complicated. But right now, we need to figure out what's wrong with Mika." I said as I turned the water off. Mika lifted his arms and tail up as I picked him up carefully and set him down on the toilet. "All I did was get my legs wet." He said, freaking out. "Ok ok, calm down Mika. At least we know you can turn back into a mermaid again." I said, trying to calm him down. "B-but what if I can't change back?!"

He looked like he was about to have a panic attack. "Mika, you're gonna give yourself a heart attack! Look, just calm down and take deep breaths. Relax." I said, grabbing his hands. He wrapped his arms around me quickly, breathing heavily. He was shaking really really badly as well.

"Hey shh. It's ok. I'm here." I said quietly, rubbing his back. Yoichi sat down on the side of the tub and rubbed his shoulder. I picked him up carefully and walked out of the bathroom. To be honest, he was incredibly light. "Yoichi can you open the door?" I asked, keeping Mika close. He opened the door and I walked in, setting him on the bed. I sat down next to him and wrapped a blanket around him as he leaned his head on my shoulder. I grabbed his hand. I've never seen him this scared before. Yoichi pulled up my desk chair in front of us. "So what exactly is going on?" He asked. I heard Mika sigh quietly. Thank god his breathing calmed down. "I was being 'transferred' to America, but Yu saved me and brought me here. But, my tail stayed out of water for too long and it changed into legs. I've stayed here ever since." Mika said, quietly. "Wait, are you talking about the two guys who were arrested at the docks for threatening murder?" He asked. I looked over at him. "You know?" I asked.
