I felt cold hands near my gashes as I jolt upwards. "It's okay, don't hurt yourself." A voice says as the hands carefully lay me back down. My frantic eyes land on the myth, whose face was bruised and the cut on his cheek surrounded by dried blood. Body aching I grimaced.
"What-" I cleared my throat, "What happened?" My voice was rough and scratchy. "Hydra captured us." His voice was deep and tired sounding. I clench my teeth, trying sitting up, Buck wraps his arm around my waist, helping me sit up. He was on his knees as I was sitting on some kind of rectangular box, with a blanket thrown across it. "How are you feeling?" He asks, his dull blue eyes staring into mine. I looked down at my stomach, I had a rather large bandage around my gashes. "I'm ok, what about you?" I ask as he adverts eye contact. "I'm fine." He says. I examined him for a moment, he had a sharp jawline and large frame. "You sound exhausted, maybe you should rest." I suggest, Buck shakes his head. "How long have I been out?" He clears his throat leaning against the box I sat on. "Three days," He says, I sigh. "You fixed me up?" I ask, he nods his head 'yes' as I look around where we were. "I tried, your scars were deep, and you should've died, but I guess you're stronger than you look." He says, I place a hand on my bandage. "Thanks anyway." We were in some type of small bunker, there wasn't much room, it was more like a glorified closet. I sigh, moving slightly, almost falling as Buck jumps up, wrapping his arm around me once more. "Sorry." I breath out as he keeps his arm around me. In that light I could see the cut on his cheek bone. It looked to be very deep.
"You need to treat that or it will get infected." I say, he shakes his head. "Come on let me help you." He stares for a moment, pursing his lips together. "Alright." He says finally, handing me a rag and a few bandages. I gently place my hands on his cheek, making him look straight at me, with my other I gently wipe away at the dried blood as he grimaces.
As I finish I see the rather medium cut, it wasn't anything to be concerned about, but you could never be too careful. "Looks like you'll live." Buck cracks a smile as he leans back against the wall. I hadn't known him long at all, but his smile was contagious and beautiful. "So is 'Buck' a nickname?" I ask suddenly. "Yeah, My real name is James Buchanan Barnes, Steve's called me that since we were kids." He says, a slight smile caresses my lips. "Does it have a special meaning?" I ask, James shakes his head, "Well my mother named me after my grandfather." I laugh, "My grandpa's name was James also, he said it meant being just and fair." James nods, "And you go by Ivy?" He asks as I nod. "Well my full name is Ivana Malu Quinn, The Poison part came later." James looks over at me, "That's a beautiful name. Does is also have a meaning?" I nod, "Ivana means god's gracious gift," I scoff as James cracks a smile, "Malu means peacefulness. My mother is Russian and Hawaiian." James nods, moving to sit next to me. "So you're god's gracious and peaceful gift?" I laugh slightly, "Fat chance, huh?" I say crossing my legs. "I can see it." He says, we lock eyes for a moment.
My watch starts shaking violently as I pull my eyes away from his and my wrist up to look at it. "Ivy? Bucky? Can you hear me?" It was Steve's voice. I click it, "Steve! Were both here." I say as James scoots closer to me. "Are you guys alright?" He asks, I chuckle, "We'll live." "OK, I swiped this from that tiger lady, Sam helped me hack into it." Steve says as James gently pulls my wrist towards him. "Steve, what's the plan?" He asks, keeping his hand wrapped around my wrist. "Sam and I are going to sneak in, but we need your help navigating Ivy."
Suddenly the door latched open as Viper and two soldiers walk in, guns aimed at James and I. I click the device off, pulling down my sleeve. "Ivy, Tigra told me about your rebellious actions, I'm very disappointed." She states, her hand on her hip. "I would've done it sooner If I was informed." I spat, Viper raised one side of her lips, and furrowed her brows.
In that moment she disappeared then reappeared in front of me, digging her nails into my wounds. James pushed her back away from me as I grabbed my stomach in pain. A soldier swung his gun at James, who grabbed it with his metal arm, throwing him across the room. I grimace, but get up, kicking another soldier in the chest sending him flying back into the box I was laying on. Viper attacks James with all her might, pushing him against the wall. Throwing wild punches, she connects with his cheek and sticks a knife in his shoulder. I grab a handful of her hair, throwing her against the ground, glancing back at James. "You okay?" A soldier shoots the taser, and my body locks up, falling down I feel James arms around me as my eyes instantly close. It felt like I had stuck my hand in a socket and kept it their, my body felt like it was on fire. "I'm going to do something stupid so I trust you to clean up my mess." James whispered into my ear. Suddenly it was pitch black, and I couldn't feel anything.
I jolt up, only to be thrusted back down to the hard floor. I take a deep breath, my arms were chained to the wall from behind. Glancing around the room it was completely padded, except for the prominence of the black door. I was alone, they must've put James somewhere else. I clicked the watch from behind, "Cap?" I call out. It was a moment before he answered back, "Ivy, you're alright. What the hell is happening?" He asked. I sighed, trying to make my position slightly less unbearable. "We were attacked, I'm not sure where James is," I say laying my head against the wall. "Do you have a plan?" Cap asks as I rack my brain. "Bear with me."
A moment passes, an intercom clicks causing my heart to leap, I click off the device quickly. "Ivy, it's Tigra. I want to make a proposal." Her voice was lined with desperate intentions and I clenched my jaw. "I am going to come in there," She says as the padded door unhinges and is pushed open. Tigra waltz in, a rather large bruise on her upper cheek. "As you have probably noticed your wounds have healed." No I didn't notice, but I didn't show it. "Where's James?" I spat. Tigra bent down, her face inches from mine, a twisted smile forming on her fanged lips. "You didn't hear?" She says satirically. I looked into her eyes, as she looked away, a scoff escaping her lips. "Well, let's just say James is not himself anymore, he gave that freedom up for you." She says as I squint my eyes. "What the hell does that mean?" I ask. "Well, we gave him a decision, either give up and let us do what we want, or have you executed. He was quick to make that decision, you must give a hell of a first impression to make a man give up his free will for you. Though, I've seen you do it many times before." Tigra growled. He gave up his freedom because he believed I could save him. I hadn't known him for more than a few hours, and most of the time I was unconscious, what made him even trust me like that, he has a lot more faith in me then I do in my own self.
"Now here's the proposal." She says standing back up. I keep my eyes glued to the ground as her claws grew in. She bent down, close to my face as her claws crept by my throat. "Now, I know you feel like we tricked you, but listen. I raised you, trained you vigorously, gave you all my tricks, only for you to try to kill me!" As she got closer, she smacked me, then lifted my chin up. "I thought for all these years, twelve to be exact, that even if you found out the truth you wouldn't betray me, I thought we were closer than that," Again she ran her claws down my face, "You killed my mother." I spat. "I saved your mother from you, from a painful death, you know how strong your powers are! You are the one who killed her, and you think of me as a villain." She was right. I had touched my mother first, then she shot her. I advert my eyes as Tigra sits in front of me. "Listen Ivy, you are dangerous, you are not a hero, your powers kill, not save." I kept my head low as she lifted my chin once more. "I promise you from now on I will never lie to you. Join me, we want the same as Shield, but the difference is we'll come up on top, not them." I raised my head to look straight into her eyes.
In that split minute I made a decision. "Alright," I say, Tigra's expression changes slightly. "Are you sure, because if you are lying to me, I will kill you." She growls. I shake my head, "Like you said, my powers kill, not save." I say solemnly as Tigra smiles down at me. "That's my girl." As Tigra unlatched my cuffs, I waited. Just as she unlocked the last latch, I lunged at her. I didn't really have a whole plan thought out and maybe I could've stalled for a moment, but to me it's always now or never. We smashed against the wall as she tried to dig her claws into me. I slammed her head against the non-padded door, but I knew that wouldn't be enough to knock her out. Tigra put her hands on my hips, throwing me off her. I slammed against the padded wall falling to the floor. As she grew in her fangs, she ran full sprint towards me, I swipe her feet from underneath her and she falls right down, and with one slick kick, she was out for the count. I took a deep breath. I dragged her to where my cuffs were and cuffed her tightly. "I'm not your girl, bitch." I spat, taking the Bunker keys from her pocket.
I click the watch, "Cap, I'm going to need you to track my watch." Sticking the keys in the door, I stuck my head out, but there was no one to be seen. I knew the Bunkers very well, and I knew the shifts of the guards. "I don't know how to do that!" Cap says. I bite my lip, "Is Sam there?" "I'm here," Sam said. "Ok since you lived in this century do you know how to track my signal?" I ask, hearing Cap scoff jokingly. "Yes, I have your signal," Sam said a moment later.
I make it to the end of the corridor. I knew that since James was very dangerous that they'd probably have him in the barracks on the top floor. There was also a plane landing, if I could pull it off, I could get James and have Cap and Sam be at the top. "Alright, do you have an aircraft?" I ask, "We can get one." Cap says. "Get one. There's a plane landing on the southwest rooftop of the building, be there in half an hour, maybe be ready to fight." I say as I find the staircase. "Copy that, see you soon." Cap says as I turn off the device, I needed to be stealthy.
