We land on top on a rather tall building, with the word, 'STARK' scribed across the front of it in bright lights. I jump out first and take a deep breath. I wasn't sure if I had went up against anyone in SHIELD, but if I did I knew there would be bad blood there, I never lost a fight. The building was the tallest in the city, and was rightly lit in the evening sky. I had heard of Tony Stark before, but just the name.
"Sam, we'll meet later." Cap says as Sam nods. Cap and Sam had devised a plan to keep Bucky out of the hands of any of the Avengers, he was still considered an assassin and highly dangerous, and I wondered why they weren't treating me the same. Cap leads me into the building as a rather short man with a funny beard walks out of a room with a glass of liquor in his hand. He chokes on his drink, spitting it slightly, surprised by us, he laughs awkwardly.
"Cap, nice to see you again, could've warned me about you stopping by, but whatever that's fine..." The man trails off as he looks at me, cocking his head, there was a look in his eyes, and I couldn't decipher it. "Ivana?" His voice changes slightly, it was almost like he was happy to see me. I nod, stepping up.
"Ivy, actually." I hold out my hand, he clears his throat, almost like he was covering something up. "Ivy, right. H- Have you uh, switched sides?" He stutters excitedly, shaking my hand. "I guess so." I shrug as Tony nods. "That's great! Uh- Let me tell you, you might not remember, but I sent some of my droids, I mean very strongly made, to retrieve- uh, something for me across the country. Anyways you demolished them all. You're uh, extraordinary." He says, looking me up and down.
"By the way, I'm Tony Stark." He suddenly pulls me into a hug, holding me tightly, I laugh slightly, patting his back. "I've heard of you, I was actually supposed to assassinate you last year, but I could never seem to find you." Tony laughs, pulling away. "Grateful for that at least. Man, if you would've killed me last year I would've finally gotten a good night's rest." Tony jokes as I smile. "By the way, I studied you, not to be creepy, I hacked Hydra's servers and upon the day you, uh switched to our side. I made you a super sweet suit." I smile, "How'd you know I'd switch?" I ask as Tony looks down for a brief moment then back up. "I knew your mother, and if you were the slightest bit like her, you'd do what was right." "Thank you Stark, I'm actually glad I didn't assassinate you." He smile genuinely. "Wow, we recruited a very dangerous assassin on the same day I get to see Cap twice in a day, is it Christmas?" He says as Cap scoffs slightly.
We follow him to what seems to be a some sort of a lab. Tony types in a quick code and then a super suit emerges from behind a wall. It was awesome. The suit was completely black, almost like my old one. It was tightly fit and showcased my assets heavily, but was also very flexible. It had special places for my new knives and gadgets Tony gifted to me.
Such as a high powered taser, more powerful than the one Hydra had given me. My knife's were made out of Vibranium, which is the same material Cap's shield was made out of. The favorite is my new gloves, which I could emit power out of the palms of my hands that could paralyze someone for as long as I want, and if it comes to it, I could poison them, which I knew how to do quite well. Also a gun Tony called the 'forever gun' because it sent out beams and never ran out. I wondered what they were gearing me up for, but I also didn't care. I wasn't staying long.
As we all sat at Tony's dinner table, Pepper had made us something to eat, she also let me borrow something to wear that wasn't my super suit. I kept catching either Tony or Pepper staring but I wasn't sure why, were they really that starstruck?
I ate as normal as possible, I was starving and haven't ate in about three days, but I didn't want to seem like a barbarian. "So Ivy, I don't mean to be forward, but I am going to be. Ivy you have to become a part of the team." Tony says suddenly as I gulp.
I wasn't sure if I was ready to be an Avenger. I've read about them once before, they saved New York from aliens or something. I don't even know who all are Avengers. All eyes were on me. I was not really a team player, I was good with Tigra because she was just like me. If I became an Avenger, world problems would be our problem and I needed to find Frank Castle, it was Mom's order.
"I know what you're thinking." Cap says as he faces me, "You're not sure if you'll be good with a team, but listen once you dive into the Avenger initiative you'll love it. Plus you probably want to find Frank Castle, and I could help you do that." Cap suggests as he looks up and nods at me. I need to find him alone, and they only way to do that was lie. "Alright count me in." I put on a fake smile as Tony rejoiced. "Poison Ivy as an Avenger, what a great day." Tony says. A huge part of me wanted to be an avenger, but another just wanted to be left alone. Being an Avenger was a big responsibility, was I ready for that?
