Daniel's POV

Sloane was three months along, before we decided meeting each other's parents would be a good idea.

"You all packed up baby?" She asked me. She was laid out on the couch in the living room, waiting for an answer.

"Yes ma'am! I'm just gonna carry these bags to the car and we'll get going." I replied. There was such a delicate beauty to her, to pregnant women I guess. It was a nice glow about her, her skin, her eyes, it all just made me so happy I had her.

"I can help you D, give me a bag." She said.
"No, no, no. Relax ma, I got it." She reached out to take a bag.
"I'm pregnant not fragile. Give me a bag hun." I hesitated and she grabbed two small bags, leading me out to my car.

"Honestly, I appreciate the sentiment D." She said, kissing my cheek. I kissed her lips.

"I just don't want you to worry about anything. You're so precious." I looked at her in a lovely daze, rubbing her belly.

"No, I'm pregnant." She said giggling. She grabbed my ass and ran back  into her apartment as fast as she could, holding her belly.

"Sloane!!" I hollered, chasing after her. I caught her in the hallway, pinning her to the wall. I remember this, from our movie date. Almost two years ago. I kissed her lips, one hand firm against her waist, the other gripping her thighs.

"Daniel. We have.. we have to... goo.." she mumbled in between kisses.
I picked her up, walking back to the car.

Daniel's Parents

We decided to make a road trip out of meeting each other's parents, delivering the good news. Our first stop was my parents. My family lived in New York, her family lived in Maryland. We've really only spoken with them over the phone, but I've never known much of Sloane's parents.

As we reached my parents home, I unloaded our bags onto the front porch. Sloane grabbed the big duffel bag, showing off.

She knocked lightly on the door. I chuckled to myself, banging on the door. Just then, the door swung open.

"Damn! What you want Officer?!" My dad hollered. We laughed embracing him.

"Hello Miss Sloane, how are you?!" He asked.
"I'm good Mr. Simmons, how are you doing?"
"I'm good, good. Go on in, say hey."

Sloane waltzed in hugging my mother, my sister Miley and my brother Russ.
My father pulled me aside and whispered
"Why you wait til now to bring her over? I really like this one. What did you do?" He looked at me questionably. I smiled, looking at my feet.
"She's pregnant, dad." He smacked the back of my head.
"And yo dumbass is smiling? Damn you must like this one too."
" I love this one." I smiled to her, looking at her watching me and my father still at the door.
I just wonder if she loves me the same.

"When you gonna marry her?" My dad asked.
"Can we tell mom and then discuss?!" I said, slightly raising my tone. He raised an eyebrow and I quickly moved away from him and to Sloane. She was talking with my mother.

I kissed her forehead, resting an arm on her waist. I rubbed my hip lightly.

"So, when you getting married?" My mother clasped her fingers together leaning against the island in the kitchen, waiting for a response. My father chuckled and kissed my mom's cheek, resting beside her on a nearby stool.

"I guess you couldn't hold it in either." I looked to Sloane.
"It's exciting news. Plus, we talk with them all the time. They're practically and now technically my parents too." She smiled widely. My mother held to Sloane's hand lovingly.
"I like her Daniel." She admired Sloane. This was almost too easy.
"I'm glad you're out of school honey but you both need to get working and you both need to plan your future. A baby is A LOT of responsibility." She said.
"I will propose in due time. I don't wanna shotgun wedding." Sloane chuckled as I spoke.
" She's gonna have our child and we'll get there when we get there. Im gonna take care of what's mine. I don't wanna rush her at all and being around her is enough for me." She looked at me and kissed me passionately.

"Uh uh! Cut it out!" My dad hollered, laughing. My mom just couldn't stop smiling.
"He's such a romantic. You know, you're just like your dad baby."she said.
"I ain't no sap!" My father exclaimed.
"Oh shut up Joe!" She laughed, smacking his arm.
We stayed for the weekend with my parents. We mostly all talked and did some family bonding at home. I think Mom and S got some wedding ideas brewing.

"I'm really gonna miss you guys." Sloane said, hugging my family. I hugged them all too and we drove off to see Sloane's family.

"Be safe!" My mother called.

Sloane's Parents

As we were driving Sloane seemed to look like she was getting upset.

"You ok-"
"Maybe we shouldn't go." She spoke quickly.
"Why?" I was puzzled.
"D, my parents don't know you, nor do they know I have a boyfriend, nor do they wanna know that I'm pregnant!" She quickly calmed herself down, holding my hand as she spoke this time.
"Daniel, my parents aren't or won't be as accepting as your family was." She laid her head on the window.

"My family is from Trinidad and Caribbean parents are a lot to handle." She looked at her phone, rubbing her forehead.

"It's just my mother and my brother Kale but she invited my father so it might get ugly." She warned.

What was I in for?
