New Friends

"Focus the lens! Andrea I need you to look into his eyes as if he were the love of your life." I shouted. We were assigned a project, it was a romance film we were to make and present infront of the class. It's a different category for the film we have to create every semester.

I was filming a scene where the main characters (Andrea and Todd) had just caught sight of each other at a party. Yeah, I kind of based it off of me and Daniel. I just amped up my finesse a little. I miss him, though he calls, texts and Skypes me all the time. I told him about my romance film and he just laughed.

"Alright guys, that's pretty good for the first day! Thanks so much for coming out and we will continue on Friday."

I announced to my cast and staff. I got ready to go home when Andrea caught up to me. "Ready to go?"

"Absolutely. Who are we meeting up with?"

"My actor friends James, Leah and Brock."

"Oh Brock." I say in a dreamy voice. "What a German name. I think."

"Well he's actually Polish you dickhead."

"Even better." I say laughing. We made our way to Coast Café where they were waiting for us.

"Hey guys! This is my friend Sloane." I waved at the three strangers, "Sloane, this is Leah, James and Brock."

Leah?!" I exclaimed.

"Sloane!" Leah cheerfully hugged me.

"Why do you two know each other?" Andrea gave us a lost look.

"She was my lead actress in my movie Honeymoon!" I exclaimed.

"Yes!" Leah curtsied. "But I had an amazing director. She made that shit movie actually worth something."

"Yeah that was a pretty bad script." James said, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. What a cute couple.

"Anyway, Sloane is my amazing roommate. She's a film major."

We all eased into our seats as my new friends all commented in unison, "Ooh!"

"You know we are all actors. Well I'm an actress." Leah said.

"Yes I know. What were you guys in? Besides you Leah." She laughed a little and Brock said, "I've only been in two broadway remake films and a MGM film as an extra." James said "I've been in a few films. My most recent was an one of the nerds that were friends with Jenko in 22 Jump Street."

"Impressive." I say, clapping my hands.

"So we worked on my script today." I was talking to Daniel on Skype. I was laying in bed, fiddling with my hair.

"Mhmm." He replied. He was working on new lyrics to a song.

"I met some of Andrea's friends too."

"Mhmm."

"I shit myself too. It was everywhere."

"Mhmm."

"Daniel! Are you even listening?!"

"Yes baby. How does this sound for the song,

First of, let me apologize, for all them other guys-"

he sang it but I quickly cut him by saying

"You should be listening to me! I said I shit myself today!"

"Really Sloane! That's disgusting!" I held my head in my hands and mumbled "I said it to get your attention idiot."

"Message received." He said with a disgusted look.

"Anyway, yeah that actually sounds good, lemme hear more."

"For all them other guys that, didn't treat you right girl. Lemme ease your mind girl. See, you are just my type and I ain't no psychic. But I believe in my world, is that I can read your mind girl. my girl, my girl."

"That's cute. I really like that. I don't get the psychic, mind reader part but it's sweet." He smiled big and laughed at me.

"Yeah, I feel you. That was just Trevor's part."

"Aw! Is he really dating Zendaya?! I love her!"

"Yes, yes he is. I mean, I could see if she wants to meet you."

"That would be amazing." I started playing in my hair again. " Anyway, yeah I met some of Andrea's friends today, James, Leah and Brock."

"Brock?" He said in a harsh tone, mocking the name as I did before, causing my sudden laughter.

"My name is Brock!" he said in such a caveman-esque tone, puffing out his chest and walking around flexing his muscles. I fell out in a fit of laughter. He's too much.

"Baby! He's actually very nice!"

"Oh is he?" He gives you a bit of a jealous look.

"He's also very gay."

"Good. Can't have anyone looking at what's mine." I smiled.

"I should just wear those Muslim outfits the women wear."

"Mhmmm. Baby the way the cloth just wraps around you is so sexy. I see your ankles and I get a crazy boner." He says sarcastically.

"Whatever! Okay I'm going to bed babe. Night, love you."

"Love you too. Night Sloane."
