Chapter Two: You Must Not Know 'bout B!

It was a lovely Friday afternoon, and as of 6 o'clock Beyoncé was off of work and her weekend had just begun. Sliding on her favorite pair of knock off Dior shades, she stepped outside of her office building; blocking her sepia eyes from the bright sun. She was on her way home to find something or better yet someone to occupy her time. Finally, a weekend to herself. Brendan was spending some quality time with his father, just like every other weekend, and she couldn't be more elated to get some time alone.
With her bronze tresses bouncing softly on her shoulders and her heels steady clacking away at the pavement; she pulled out her cell phone- contemplating on who to call. 'Shawn or Aaron' the two names circled her mind over and over.
Her pick of the month, as Kelly and Michelle would call them. Besides Terrell (Brendan's father), Shawn had been the only guy that stuck around for more than a month or two. Not because she wanted him to but because he had no intentions of going anywhere himself.
Serious relationships were never anything Beyoncé felt the need for, being as though she viewed love as the enemy. The last time, she caught feelings for a dude, she ended up sixteen and pregnant. Young and naive at the time, she had given her all to him, thinking that'd he'd be around through the good and the bad but he wanted nothing to do with her and her unborn child. Left with only one other choice at the time, she got an abortion and went on with her life. Of course, this was all before Brendan was conceived two years later- the result to yet another slip up in her life.
An abortion was the last thing on Terrell's mind when she broke the news to him. They had been dating off an on for almost a year and unlike the last guy she had so called 'trapped' Terrell was happier than ever. About 4 years her elder, he already had a job and was stable enough to take care of them all. 19 and pregnant, Beyoncé moved in with Terrell around her third trimester and the two of them raised Brendan together for a little over a year before she found herself falling out of lust with him. She constantly felt that better opportunities were passing her by and had to move on, putting her feelings first yet again and taking Terrell's heart with her when she left him. Despite what she thought, he'd always loved her and had no intentions of letting her go. One reason, why he talked her out of getting rid of his child seven years ago.
She'd had a hectic life indeed, but mastered the art of hiding it. She never had the privilege to know her biological father and growing up, she simply longed for the compassion of any male at that; naively, believing whenever they uttered those three short words or better yet; told her she was beautiful.
After a while, she caught on to their lies and decided to join them at their own game. It was only a plus that she had the good looks to accompany her; wrapping almost every man she came across around her little finger and probing them to do whatever she asked. At first she didn't think she could get away with playing guys the same way they had played her, but she did and was still at it, at the age of 25 continuing the promise she had made to herself as a teen. To never fall in love again. It only causes heartache and pain. Another reason why she never understood why Kelly was always trying to talk that nonsense into Michelle's head. Unlike Kells, Beyoncé kept it real. "They're only gonna fuck you and leave you, so you might as well get hip to the game and play them mother fuckers too!" was a statement she damn near lived by.
Of course most females viewed that type of behavior as something only suitable for a hoe, but she didn't look at that way. She was only doing the exact same thing men had been getting away with for decades.
Finally, stepping up to her 2006 Honda Accord; she pressed the automatic unlock button on her keychain and hopped in; starting the car up in seconds and pulling off. Just as she had made her decision on who she wanted to invite over tonight, a call came through; startling her. She looked at the caller ID and sighed. Irritated from the mere sight of his name, she answered it. "Yes Terrell?"
"Hey, I need you to come get Brendan." he neglected the traditional greeting just as she did.
"Whatchu mean you need me to come get him? This is your weekend, not mine!" she fumed in anger.
"I know that B, I just picked him up from aftercare and my boss called. They need me to come in tonight." he replied; praying that she'd just come through on her motherly duties for once and stop being difficult.
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that Terrell, but I have plans already." she couldn't help but grin as the little white lie fell through her lips. In all honesty, she had nothing planned, but had already built up the anticipation to do so. "Where's your mother, can't she watch him until you get off?"
"What the hell do you have to that's so important you can't come pick up your child?" He rarely raised his voice and had to be extremely angry when he did. She had successfully pissed him off and knew it too.
"That's none of your damn business, and I'd appreciate it if you lowered your fucking voice!" Beyoncé retorted calmly; pissing him off even more.
"Forget it B." he slammed the phone down before she could even reply with another smart comment. The last thing he wanted to do was argue with her while his son was right beside him. He'd already witnessed some very foul shit go down between the two of them and he didn't need to see or hear anything else of that matter.
Riding clean in her charcoal gray Accord, Beyoncé song along proudly to her newfound anthem; Jim Jones' We Fly High and lowered the volume; dialing a familiar number. She had gotten her way yet again and proceeded with her mission to call Aaron like she had started- the least bit concerned about her sons whereabouts. She knew Terrell would either drop him off with his mother or sister until he got off work.
Just as she thought, Aaron wasn't doing a damn thing, but sitting around and waiting for her to call. She would have called Shawn, but found herself spending a little too much time with him lately. She didn't want him getting the wrong idea.
"I'll be over there around 7." Aaron replied after she asked him to come keep her some company.
"Alright baby, I'll see you later."
20 minutes later and she was in front of the single family town house home her mother had helped her purchase about five years ago. To most people, this would just be the beginning of jumping out there into the real world. Content with her telecommuting job, and tiny two bedroom- town house she had no intentions at all in upgrading that to anything better. She hopped out of the car and went inside; dropping her keys on the table by the door and shuffling threw the mail at the same time. Majority of it being bills, she wandered into the kitchen and threw them on the counter.
Sprinting up the stairs; she remembered precisely that Aaron said he was coming over around 7 o'clock; leaving her nearly 30 minutes to get ready for his company. Hopping out of her Steve Madden pumps on her way into her bedroom, she picked them up and neatly placed them in her closet before heading towards her bathroom and starting the shower. 15 minutes after taking care of the essentials she descended the shower just as the doorbell rung.
"What the fuck.?" she uttered wrapping a towel around herself and glancing at the clock on her way out of the room. She must have wasted more time then she planned. She removed the shower cap on her head; letting her hair stick to her shoulder and threw it on the bed before going downstairs to open the door.
"Aren't you a little early?" she swung the door open and greeted Aaron.
"Well damn, I hope you don't welcome all of your guest like this." he said staring her up and down. Her still moist and glistening skin made it a little hard to look away. He walked inside while she shut the door behind him.
"And if I did? Would it be a problem?" she smirked and brushed past him letting the scent of her Pure Seduction (VS) body wash tickle his nostrils.
"Yea it'd be a problem. Don't nobody need to be seeing none of that but me." he said following closely behind her. She chuckled to herself, thinking it was kinda cute how he thought he was the only one in her life at the moment. Poor thing.
"You act like I answered the door butt naked or something."
"might as well have."
"I bet you would have liked that huh?" she teased as they entered the living room. She picked up the remote and turned the television on while Aaron flopped down on the sofa behind her.
"I'll be right back." Beyoncé announced; planning to go put on something more comfortable, but of course Aaron didn't see the point. He pulled her down in his lap. She smiled and melted in his arms; willingly- knowing exactly what this was going to lead to.
"Where you goin?" he said softly in her ear producing goose bumps.
"Well I was going to put some clothes on, that's why I turned the TV on for you."
"Who said I wanted to watch TV?" he mumbled and traced her collar bone with his tongue. He already knew she didn't tell him to come over just so they could watch movies, like she had exclaimed earlier. He laughed at the dumbfounded expression on her face and removed her towel. "and what's the point in putting on clothes anyway? They're just gonna come off!" he stated condescendingly and she smiled as he admired the perky twins in front of him.
"You gotta point there, but what about the movie?" Totally contradicting herself, Beyoncé shifted her weight and straddled his lap; tossing her towel somewhere behind her.
"Look atchu getting comfortable, you ain't worried about no damn movie either."
"Well let's take this little party upstairs then." she started to stand up but he pulled her back down again.
"For what, we've christened almost every other room in this house, might as well bless this one."
She grinned thinking 'this was easier than I thought it was going to be' and leaned in for a kiss. He happily obliged. About 5 more minutes into the foreplay and Aaron's clothes and boxers were on the floor too.
They hadn't been at it for more than 3 minutes when Beyoncé heard the screen door open and a knock at the door. The steady rhythm her hips had picked up came to an abrupt stop and Aaron frowned and held onto her.
"They'll go away." he assured her not to stop, not even thinking about the lights being on and better yet, her car was clearly in the drive way, obviously blocked in by his.
"B, OPEN THE DAMN DOOR. I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!" Terrell yelled and continued pounding away.
Due to the lack of space in the town house she owned, you could clearly see the front door from the sofa in the living room. Beyoncé jumped up; in search for the towel she had came downstairs in but her thoughts were too scrambled she couldn't even focus. While she stood there bewildered, Aaron had already started putting his clothes back on.
"Daddy, there's a key under the plant." she heard Brendan's tiny voice clearly imply and she lost it.
"Oh shit!!" was all she kept mumbling. The last thing she needed was for her son to catch her butt naked in the living room, screwing Aaron.
Aaron tossed the towel her way and she ran towards the staircase, nearly busting her ass on the way up. Running into her room; she grabbed her robe and carefully tied it before ramming her feet into her slippers and going back downstairs appearing to be calm and collected.
Terrell had indeed used the spare key that Brendan had pointed out and was standing in the middle of the foyer with a disgusted look on his face as Aaron stood parallel to him.
"I'll call you later B." Aaron announced before walking out of the front door.
She started to stop him, but decided against it. There was no point.
"Hi, Mommy!" Brendan crashed into her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Hey sweetie. Did you have fun with Daddy?" she put on a fake smile and rubbed his head. He smiled- flashing his gums. He was definitely in the process of loosing his teeth and B couldn't wait until he got past this stage.
"What are you doing here?" she waited for Brendan to disappear before cutting into Terrell's ass.
"I told you I had to go to work. My mother was busy and couldn't watch him."
"and I told you I had plans tonight!" she retorted as he eyebrows sunk.
"Well, it looks like those plans left you high and dry huh?" he chuckled and went on to speak. "So you can stop running around here like you don't have any fucking responsibilities and look after your son now." he clenched his fist to prevent himself from punching her in the face. The fact that she had told him, she had prior plans was the least reason why he was so upset. The fact that he had damn near walked in on her fucking some random dude is what had his blood boiling.
"Oh so now, he's my son?" she folder her arms across her chest and glared at him.
"Don't even start with that bullshit, B. You know what I mean."
"No. I don't know what you mean Terrell, explain!" she rested her hands on her hips and rolled her neck with attitude.
When he didn't answer, she shoved him in his chest and he caught her wrist before she even thought about doing something else.
"It means, you need to stop running around here like a little slut and do what the you're suppose to do, for once!" Terrell said firmly and triggered a soft spot.
With that statement he turned his back towards her and left; hopping into his black Impala and skirting off.
Frustrated and irritated, Beyoncé slammed the door shut and growled.
'so now I'm a slut.' she spoke out loud and huffed. 'he wasn't saying that shit a month ago.'
It was obvious that Terrell still had feelings for her, vice versa. Even though, they could barely construct an adult conversation with each other without arguing, that didn't stop the physical attraction they had for one another. On many occasions, they found themselves waking up in one or the other's bedroom after a night filled with passion. Oblivious to the fact that they were giving their son false hope to some type of happy future together.
