Kelly sat at her kitchen table feverishly rubbing her eyes and sighing. It'd been a long day indeed.
Somewhere in between the time the girls left Silk the night before and began heading home, their plans to crash the boys party had subsided. They figured if they had enough respect for them not to ruin their fun, the least they could do was return the favor.
Surprisingly, Kelly was all for it and managed to give Roy some space.
By the time he came home from the party, she'd fallen asleep and by the time she woke up, he was gone. It was pretty much a normal routine for the couple but something just wasn't settling right with her.
The fact that Roy had totally skipped out on Bey and Shawn's wedding rehearsal a few hours prior, without letting anyone know the deal was what was pushing her over the edge at this particular moment in time. It wasn't like him at all to so something like this. She'd been calling his phone all day.
It was a little past 8 now and she still had yet to receive a phone call from her husband.
With a dim glare over the stove being the only form of light in the kitchen, Kelly continued to stare off into space- eagerly awaiting Roy's arrival. Her mood had quickly gone from highly pissed and ready to strangle to calm and concerned.
This feeling was all too familiar to her. Her past affairs with Gregory being the end result. Nothing was more important than communication in a marriage and that they were definitely losing again.
The sudden sound of the garage door going up and down again jilted her from her steady thoughts.
"Hey, you waiting up for me?" Roy dropped his brief case by the door and loosened his tie. Completely oblivious to her anger, he patiently awaited an answer while looking through the fridge for a cold beverage.
Kelly rolled her eyes and stood up. "It's nice to see you're still alive." She said sarcastically and pushed the chair back in its rightful place. "I've been calling you all day Roy."
His attention turned back to her quickly. Someone was pissed.
"I must have forgot to turn my phone back on after that meeting this morning."
"So I guess you forgot about the wedding rehearsal tonight too? Huh?" Kelly stated matter-of factly causing a light bulb to go off in Roy's head. His jaw dropped a centimeter before he rubbed his hands over his face and fell to his chin.
"Shit."
"Damn right."
"Babe, list-"
"No, I don't even wanna hear the excuse you have for this one. You just make sure you call Shawn and Bey to apologize."
Roy shook his head and sighed as he watched her exit the kitchen and disappear off into the foyer.
The rehearsal was already unorganized as is with a wedding party full of loud and optimistic people, Roy's absence only made things more stressful on the bride's part. Everything had to be perfect and without him there to practice with everyone else definitely left her worrying about the result of the final act.
On the other hand, Roy was genuinely sorry about the entire thing but he knew Kelly had to have been upset about more than that. He could see it in her eyes let alone hear it in her tone of voice.
She was angry with him for a lot more than this rehearsal and surprisingly enough, he didn't blame her. He'd been completely aware of his actions lately and was starting to think some of the decisions he'd been making lately were completely out of the ordinary for him and maybe, just maybe were about to cause his marriage to fall through yet another rocky patch.
