"Babe! Come on, stop making that face." Michelle begged after looking over at Kevin in her passenger's seat. The couple was off to Largo, about 20 minutes out of their area and on their way to visit Michelle's mother. This would be Kevin's first time meeting Ms. Linda, and of course, he was terrified.

Michelle had told him so many horror stories about her strict mother, she had scared the man for life- seemed like.

"Can't we just do this another time? I don't think I feel good!" Kevin raised his right hand and pressed it against his forehead while Michelle came to a stop light.

"Stop playin, Kev! She's not that bad!" she shoved his thigh and he swallowed the lump in his throat. This was all moving too fast for his liking.

After realizing how much time Michelle had been spending with her new-found lover, Linda demanded to be introduced to the man that had her daughter so flustered at the simple mention of his name.

She had already called this morning and warned Michelle, that if she didn't like him to not be surprised if she let him know it in his face.

'You're going to love him Mom. I swear!' Michelle retorted; happily. Even though her mother could really be a prick at times, Chelle had no worries about this visit for some reason. Nothing could ruin her high.

Unfortunately, they approached some traffic which stretched the 20 minute ride out to an hour. Kevin was somewhat relieved the meeting would be delayed until they finally pulled up into the driveway of Michelle's childhood home.

She stopped the car and got out; eagerly grabbing her purse up along with her. Kevin, hesitantly descended as if he was about to walk the plank or something.

She couldn't help but laugh at how he resembled a teenaged boy going to meet his girlfriend's parents. Luckily for him, Michelle's father had moved to Atlanta a few years back and was no better than her mother. Over protective as usual of their only child.

The meet and greet between those two would come later on, Michelle thought- hopefully.

She walked around the car from the driver's side and caught Kevin just as he was closing the door. He scratched his head and stared at her as she pushed him against the car and kissed him; assuring him with her comfort. "It's going to be alright. Trust me. Just calm down before she thinks you're a wimp or something. Then you're really going to have some problems." she joked and laced her fingers with his as they walked to the front door.

Before she could even pull out her key the door swung open; revealing a woman- almost the splitting image of Michelle, oddly enough, she didn't look a day over 40.

"Awww, look at my baby!" Linda chimed and pulled Michelle into a loving hug; playfully fluffing her loose auburn curls. "Oooh, I've missed you so much!"

Michelle laughed and broke the hug before she squeezed the life out of her. Linda didn't waste any time grilling Kevin.

"And who might this be?" she rested her hands on her slim waist and raised her eyebrows.

"This is Kevin, Mom!"

"Hello Kevin!"

"It's nice to meet you Mrs.Wil..." Michelle shot him a look- reminding him that her mother had been going by her maiden name for years now. Mrs. Williams would not be acceptable to her.

"Ms. Newman!!" she smirked and shook his hand, rather than a hug. She shut the door and Michelle smiled, while sniffing the air. "Oooh something smells good! Is dinner ready yet?" she quickly changed the subject and walked off into the dining room, with Kevin hot on her heels.
