Feeling somewhat relieved of half of her issues, Kelly returned home the next morning after spending majority of the night at the hospital.
The bulk of her problems hadn't had the time to be appointed and she was seriously dreading having to face Roy once again.
Walking through the front door with confusion written all over her face she eyed the many suitcases neatly placed in the foyer. 'Oh Hell No!' she muttered and dropped her things on the back of the sofa before heading up the staircase.
"ROY!" She stalked through the house screaming his name until she got an answer. "ROY!"
She found him in their bedroom surprisingly packing her belongings up instead of his own.
"What are you doing?" she rushed over to him and grabbed a handful of her clothes from his arms; dropping them on the bed.
"What do you think I'm doing?" he replied with an icy tone.
Without an ounce of sleep throughout the past hours following the last time he had seen her, he'd stayed up thinking about their situation.
Coming to a conclusion, he acted on instinct. Instead of fighting for his marriage like any other normal man would do, he decided to just let her go. By letting her go, he meant that in every way possible, starting with packing up her things and sending her on her marry way. 'Maybe Greg could take her in.' he thought to himself; caring less about where'd she'd end up.
"Come on baby!" She stood by his side. Every time he'd place something inside the suitcase, she'd remove it. "Don't do this, we can work this out, really. Just listen to me, Please!" her voice cracked in the middle of the sentence realizing that he was serious about kicking her out. It wasn't like she could object either, he did pay the mortgage.
"Work it out?" Roy laughed and looked at her. "What is there to work out? You fucked up Kelly. I know I haven't been the best husband in the world but you took it to another level." He shook his head.
At this point, Kelly wasn't sure if she was sorry because she cheated or sorry just because she got caught. The one thing she did know was that she wasn't ready to let Roy go completely.
"Greg? Of all people Kells, my fuckin supervisor." he bit the inside of his lip; balling up one of her shirts in his hand to keep him from doing any harm to her.
"I didn't mean for it to happen like this." she exclaimed. "I know this shouldn't really be an excuse but, How do you think I felt all of those times you left me here alone on all your damn business trips. We haven't even been married for over a decade and our marriage was starting to go downhill."
"Well maybe that should've told you something from the jump."
Kelly pursed her lips together before rubbing her forehead. "I tried Roy, and you know I did, half of the time you blew me off because of your work, If I didn't know any better I'd say you love your job more than you do me."
"Humph!" Roy interjected and looked at her. "Well right about now, I wouldn't argue with that."
"Are you serious? You're honestly going to stand there and tell me that, like I don't mean shit to you anymore?"
Roy zipped up the suitcase on the bed and dropped it on the floor. "Look, Kelly- right now I don't even know what to think. I never thought you'd end up doing something like this to me. I worked my ass off to make you happy and you end up doing something like this."
"Well material things don't mend hearts Roy!" she muttered and rubbed her temples.
Kelly's shoulders sunk in and she covered her face; beyond stressed at this point. "I can't believe this is happening right now." the words slipped through her lips; speaking more so to herself than him.
