Grunting under her breath, Beyoncé eyed the huge sign at the entrance of Potomac Heights Apartments and pulled into the parking lot.

This particular weekend, Brendan was suppose to be spending it with his father but that little charade didn't last long. Ten o'clock that night she received a call from her son asking if 'she could come and get him'. Hearing the disappointment in his voice she agreed to do so without questioning the problem. She'd save that for the ride home. It was no secret that Brendan and Terrell had been butting heads lately and honestly that was tearing her apart inside; making her feel as though it was her fault.

Terrell had been the ideal Dad for Brendan until Beyoncé and Shawn became 'serious' in more ways than one. His jealousy got the best of him and he even began slacking on his fatherly duties leaving Brendan beyond confused as well as Beyoncé. Matters became worse when he brought his new 'girlfriend' into the mix of things as some sort of test for B.

Parking in front of the stairwell leading up to Terrell's 2 bedroom apartment, Beyoncé turned her nose up at a group of young guys huddled around and obviously up to no good. This area was nothing like the suburban one she had grown accustomed to over the past few years. She would've beeped the horn for Brendan to come out but she didn't want to draw anymore attention to herself than she already had unintentionally.

Retrieving her cellphone from the cupholder beside her, she reluctantly dialed Terrell's number but stopped once she saw Brendan dragging his feet and approaching the car with his face all scrunched up and upset.

She got out the car and slammed the door shut; meeting him half way. "What happened?"

"Nothing." the distorted expression on his face remained intact while he brushed past her. She grabbed the color of his shirt and stopped him.

"Now I know, you didn't tell me to come pick you up for NOTHING."

Brendan kissed his teeth and turned around; facing his mother.

"So are you going to tell me what happened or am I going to have to go up there and talk to your father?"

Brendan shrugged. "Go ahead. But that bit-.." he paused correcting his words. "That woman up there is probably going to try and start something with you." he said; referring to Tyiesha, Terrell's 19 year old girlfriend.

Just ten years Brendan's senior- she felt the need to act like she had some type of authority over him whenever he visited his father. No matter how often Brendan reminded her of who his mother was, she always had some type of rude remark to come back with.

"I thought I talked to you a bout this already.." B sighed; oblivious to half the things Brendan neglected to tell her. She figured he just wasn't use to sharing the quality time him and Terrell were suppose to be having.

"MA! She's crazy! Can we leave?" Irritated and annoyed, he looked at her with a questionable look.

Beyoncé frowned, resting her hands on her hips. "What exactly did she do Brendan?" Unable to understand if he was exaggerating or not; she asked the question anyway.

After all, she'd like to know if someone was treating her child as if he was of some type of un-importance.

"She told me I had to ask her first if I wanted to watch TV."

Beyoncé chuckled and rolled her eyes before letting him continue. "AND she sat in my face for 15 minutes bad mouthin you!"

"Me!?" A tad bit confused; she asked him like she hadn't heard the words come from his mouth clearly. Beyoncé had never even crossed paths with Tyiesha but yet the girl had nerve to say something a bout her.
