We were still walking when something wet splashed on my foot. I looked down and saw a puddle of water... Weird. It hasn't rained the past few days.

I nodded and watched Kakashi nod back. He saw the puddle too. I heard two heartbeats coming from behind us.

"What?" Kakashi said. I turned and threw two kunai in the direction of a Chunin from the Mist.

"Huh?!"

"What?!" Chains coming from the two ninja wrapped around Kakashi. He was cut into peices and the men went after Naruto.

"Stay calm!" I yelled to them. "Kakashi's a Jounin." I countered their chains with more kunai.

"Sharp girl, it was as if she already knew we were here. She's getting on my nerves." One said.

"Don't worry about her, it's his turn now!" The two went after Naruto again and tried to get him with their poisoned chains.

Sasuke jumped into action and pinned the two ninja to a tree. He was about to kick them both in the face and free them from their chains, but I stoped him.

"That's good Sasuke. Oh, yeah, and you can come out Kakashi." I look over to where Kakashi's heartbeat is coming from. He jumps down from the tree he's in. "Hi."

"Kakashi- Sensei!" I cringe at Sakura's loud voice.

The two ninja try to escape, but I throw two kunai and wrap them up in wires. "Not getting away that easily."

"Kakashi-Sensei used the substitution jutsu?" Naruto asks. I look over to the pile of logs in place of his guts. "Yup!" I say.

I smile and begin to bounce up and down. I can't contain my joy anymore! "Yeah! Man, that fight was totally awesome! It was to easy to defeat you two, though. Are you sure you're Chunin?"

I smirk at my sweat-dropping teammates. "Great job Hibiki, Sasuke, and Sakura. Naruto, sorry I wasn't able to help sooner. I didn't mean for you to get hurt. I didn't expect you to freeze up like that." Kakashi walked up to the two ninja and knocked them both out with a punch.

Tazuna sighed in relief. I had stopped my bouncing by now, but I could still feel adrenaline pumping through my veins.

Sasuke and Naruto had a small conversation, causing Naruto to stab his hand with a kunai.

"I will never give up!" My eyes widen at his statement. I have to admit I always saw Naruto as a all-bark-no-bite kinda guy. I had sworn something similar to myself.

*FLASHBACK*

"S-She's dead?" I fell down on my knees and felt myself shaking. "It's alright, you need to calm down Hibiki!" Sancha Tsukino, my cousin, shook my shoulders as I fell on top of my mother. Tears ran down my cheeks and I squeezed her shirt to my chest. "Hibiki! Calm down! Your chakra!" I couldn't stop, though.

"I killed her! I'll never be a medic ninja like all the other Tsukino! I'm just a failure!"

"Hibiki!" Something was injected into my arm and my vision went blurry before coming back to focus. "T-Thank you, Sancha," I managed to choke out. She picked me up off of my mother and hugged me close to her. "Hibiki, calm down. It isn't your fault. You don't have to become a medic ninja."

I chuckled half-heartedly. "Man, I'm totally a cry-baby." Sancha patted my back. "You and your weird way of talking. You got that from your mother." More tears threaten to spill from my eyes. It's silent for a while until Sancha speaks again.

"You can give up Hibiki. No one will blame you for it. You tried so hard, but couldn't control it. Everyone will understand."

"No."

"What?"

"I will never give up!" I pushed her away from me, shaking my head.

"As long as I am alive, I won't give up on my dream!"

Sancha smiled and pulled me in for another hug. "Yeah, yeah I know."

*END OF FLASHBACK*

I was so naive then.

While I was lost in my thoughts, everyone had already started walking towards the lake to get to the Land of Waves.

I walked slowly and eventually caught up with them. We all got up onto a small boat and traveled through the thick mist.

"The bridge isn't far now." The rower informed us. "The Land of Waves is just ahead." I stuck my hands in the water before slowly sliding the rest of my arms in. I dunk my head under and stay still. Man, the water feels really good. I moved the rest of the way in and slipped out of the boat.

"Hey! Hibiki!" I put my head up to the surface, only letting my eye show. Naruto looked slightly creeped out, but put out a hand for me to go back on the boat.

I sighed, causing bubbles to rise up to the surface, and put my hand out of the water. he pulled me back onto the boat as the dock came into view. I could see some of the construction crew working on the bridge.

"Whoa! It's huge!" Naruto said.

"Be quiet! Why do you think I shut off the engine?"

"So that's why you shut it off..." I squeezed some of the water out of my hair while trying not to get annoyed at the stares everyone was giving me.

Kakashi and Tazuna had a conversation about the two ninja that attacked us. Apparently, some rich guy is after him because he is doing something that will take power away from him. Tazuna pulled the "I'm a helpless old man" card so we had to protect him.

I chuckled quietly at his little kid voice. "What? You think something's funny?" I waved my hand in a dismissing manner and used the other to cover my masked mouth. "Don't worry about her, she always does that." Sakura told him.

We went throough a tunnel before finally making a stop. We all climbed out of the boat and the rower wished us good luck.

"Thank you," Tazuna said.

"Alright, now get me to my home and I mean in one peice."

"Can't promise anything, but I'll try my best." I gave him a closed-eye smile and turned to walk in the direction of his home. Everyone sweat-dropped but followed me anyway.

Naruto suddenly ran in front of the group and started flinging kunai around. One flew right by me before lodging into a tree. I looked over and saw a petrified rabbit right under the kunai. That was totally close...

I stood up straight when two familiar heartbeats entered my ears. No freaking way...

"Duck!" I fell to the floor and pulled Naruto down with me. A giant sword flew over out heads and lodged itself into a tree. I looked up really fast, wanting to get a glimpse of the man standing on the sword. No way..

"Z-Zabuza-sensei?"

Whooooo!!!! Get redy for a long flashback in the next chapter! This was some-what of a cliffhanger so I hope you were surprised. ^_^ I had this idea for a long time. In case you haven't noticed, Hibiki just does... things. Like throw shurikin at birds (during bell test) or randomly slip out of a boat and into water. You might remember that swimming is one of her hobbies from chappy 2.
