Chapter 18: Chunin Exams: Part 4

*Naruto's POV*

To say the least, I was surprised when I saw Hibiki's face. I had thought many times before about what her face would look like, sometimes sharing my thoughts with Sakura and Sasuke.

We came up with two things.

She's either extremely pretty.

Or extremely ugly.

Turns out, both were wrong.

Hibiki looked... Normal. She wasn't drop-dead beautiful, but she wasn't butt ugly. She had a boring and normal sense to her face, though there was a hidden confidence in her visible eye that is only able to be seen when her whole face is visible.

But what surprised me most were the sharp points of her teeth and the straight scar at the right edge of her lips.

She blushed (and looked incredibly cute I might add) then quickly pulled up her mask.

"I have an idea," she said, pretending to act bored and ineffected. I smiled a little and went along with her act.

"Great! Go ahead and try it out. No idea is too stupid." She nodded and moved around as much as she could.

She unwrapped the bandage covering her right eye and said, "You know almost everything about me, Naruto. What's a few more? Sharingan!"

My eyes widened in surprise. What that Gaara guy said was right. She is an Uchiha.

I felt a twinge in my chest, but dismissed it as sickness due to the predicament I was in. (A/N: Haha!!!! That's not sickness Naru-kun! It's something called JEALOUSY!)

Hibiki concentrated as hard as she could, unwrapping the bandage tied around her thumb. She slowly performed four hand signs then said, "Blood Style: Poison Jutsu!" Blood came out of her thumb and I watched in amazement as it turned black and seeped into the snakes skin.

"Wow," I said.

"I suggest you keep your mouth closed."

I opened my mouth to ask why when we were suddenly thrown out of the snake's stomach.

*Hibiki's POV*

We were practically shot out of the snake. We both fell to the ground with a thump.

Naruto smiled and looked defiantly at the huge reptile.

"Ha! Thought you could eat me? I'm Naruto Uzumaki and until I become Hokage and beat Sasuke I will never die!"

I smirked a bit under my mask. Even though he saw what I looked like, I doubt Naruto would do anything about it for a while. The thin that I was worried about, was the kiss. What did that even mean?

I shook my head, dismissing the thought until a less important time.

I wiped the snake vomit off of my cheek. "Come on. We need to go get Sasuke and Sakura." I crouched and jumped into a tree, Naruto behind me.

We both landed when we spotted Sasuke and Sakura. A girl from the Grass Village was slithering towards Sasuke, her body stretching out from a dead snake.

I prepared to jump out and surprise her when Naruto threw some kunai and shuriken, stopping the girl in her tracks.

"Naruto!" I whispered and gave him a small glare. He stood up with a cheeky grin.

"Looks like we came just in time!" I sighed and stood up beside him, arms crossed.

"You now, Naru. We could have just snuck up in her and made it easier."
