*THIRD POV*
Haku was getting ready to collect some herbs for a resting Zabuza when he heard a short moan. He turned around, basket in hand, and smiled at Hibiki.
"Look who's finally awake." Hibiki sat up quickly and looked around her before jumping out of the bed. She ran over and gave Haku a huge hug.
"Haku-chan!" Haku laughed and softly pushed Hibiki away from him. She was smiling broadly at him, she hadn't seen him in forever!
"You're so much taller!"
"I could say the same to you." She looked down at the basket in his hands and gave him a questioning look.
"I'm going to collect some herbs for Zabuza. Those Leaf Ninja were a pretty good match for Zabuza. I had to kill him for a few seconds just to get him out of there."
My teammates, Hibiki thought. They must be better than I thought.
"So Zabuza-Sensei got his butt kicked by a few measly Genin and one Jounin?" We both chuckled a little.
"Since you look fine would you like to come with me to collect the herbs?" Hibiki nodded and Haku turned to leave.
"Wait," Hibiki said, performing a transformation jutsu. "Now I'm ready."
*NARUTO'S POV*
I woke up with two unfamiliar faces in front of me.
I quickly sat up and rubbed my eyes. I must have fallen asleep training...
"Who the heck are you two?" I asked the two girls in front of me. One had long black hair and dark brown eyes. The other had short red hair pulled into a side braid and dark green eyes. They were both really pretty!
"I mean, uh, hey there! Where did you two come from?" I nervously scratched my cheek. "You know, what are you doing out here?"
The brown-eyed one answered, "We're gathering herbs."
"Herbs?"
"Yes, that's right. They're for treating illnesses and treating wounds."
"Would you like to help?" the red one finally spoke up. She was acting kind of weird. She didn't look up at me or the other girl when she talked and she seemed awfully distant. Almost like Hibiki, but this girl looked nothing like her.
"Um, yeah! Sure!" We all began to work, picking herbs and putting them in the brown-eyed girl's basket.
"You start work early don't ya sis?" I was addressing my question to the brown-eyed girl that was in front of me.
"I like it early. It's calm and I didn't expect to find anyone sleeping out here in the woods." I chuckled and said, "I'm training."
The girl looked a little surprised. The other one came over and dropped some herbs into the basket before sitting beside the brown-eyed one.
"So you're a ninja?" The red head asked. "From the Leaf, right? I saw your headband."
"You really noticed that?" I pointed to my headband. "Only super cool ninja get these!"
"Oh really? I see, that's very impressive." The brown-eyed one said. I blushed and chuckled some more.
"But," she looked down, "does that mean you're training for something dangerous?"
"I'm just developing my skills so I can get stronger."
"You seem very strong now, isn't that enough?"
"That's something you don't understand, Haku." The red head butt in, thumping Haku in the middle of her forehead. "Instead of asking why, you should ask 'why not?' Why can't he choose to get stronger? If that's his goal he can achieve it as long as he has the willpower to do so."
Haku chuckled and said, "You get so deep sometimes."
"My dream is to get stronger and be the strongest in my village! Then everyone will know who I am and they'll all respect me. There's also a certain person, a kid that I have to prove something to."
"So are you doing it for the certain someone?" Haku asked. "Or are you doing all this training for yourself?"
"What?" The two gave a silent laugh and the red-head finally looked me in the eyes.
"Do you have anyone," she paused, "precious to you?"
"Anyone... What do you mean anyone precious to you?" Haku and the red head were silent for a while.
What are they thinking? I waved my hand in front of both of their eyes. The red head snapped out of it first. "So you have no one precious? Someone you would give your life to protect?"
"When you have someone you want to protect, that's when you become genuinely strong." Haku snapped out of her trance. I began to think of Inari's dad, Kakashi-Sensei, and Iruka-Sensei. I protected Iruka-Sensei and Kakashi promised to protect Team 7. Is that what they're talking about?
"Yeah, I hear ya. I know exactly what you're saying." Haku smiled at me, but the other girl kept an impassive face.
"I forgot to ask your name." I pointed to the red head. Haku picked up the basket of herbs and the red head stood up with her.
"Her name's Lavender, she doesn't talk much. But I know what she wants to tell you: that you will get strong, very strong." She turned and followed after Lavender, who had already started to walk away. "Goodbye, we'll meet again sometime." She continued walking then stopped in her tracks.
"Oh and by the way, I'm a boy."
WHAT?!
*Hibiki's POV*
I started laughing at Zabuza-Sensei's irked face. "N-Naruto a-and Sasuke!" I calmed myself down a little and pat Zabuza-Sensei's cheek. "Don't worry Zabuza-Sensei, they caught you off gaurd is all." I sat down beside him.
"Hibiki," Zabuza-Sensei said.
"Hm?"
"You want to make a bet?"
"And what would that bet be?"
"I bet you that the next time we meet your team, we'll defeat them and kill the old man."
I contempleted the deal for a moment before shaking my head.
"In your condition? That doesn't sound like a fair bet, Zabuza-Sensei. And you know how I feel about being fair."
"You? Fair? Don't make me laugh."
"Excuse me?"
"You're the one that's on a Genin level team when with all my training you're at least at Chunin."
I shrugged my shoulders. "That wasn't my choice, therefore it can't be held against me."
Zabuza-Sensei sighed, "Just let me tell you what I'll be betting."
I waved my hand to tell him to go on.
"If I win, you have to become a rouge ninja of the Leaf and travel with Haku and I again."
"And if you lose?"
"If I lose, which I won't, I'll give you my headband and executioners blade. Sound fair enough, Miss Equality?" I laughed and nodded my head.
"Fine, you're on."

I just want to say that I'm loving how this story is coming!!!! If you were wondering, my fave characters in Naruto are Haku, Zabuza, Gaara, Sasori, Naruto, and Kimimaru. I'm going to try and incorporate them all into the story. If all goes well, I'm also planning on making a Shippuden. Please participate in my competition or tell someone you know to! No one has participated and I won't post another chappy until I get at least one participant!!!! (I know, I'm evil ;P)
