Angela
I felt guilty, ashamed and foolish. Why did I not tell his sooner? I felt awful for kissing Landon and I also felt awful for not telling Grayson.
My thoughts gather any single idea into my mind as I wonder how Grayson could have possibly found out and how I could fix this. It is ironic that we were talking about Grayson being the bad person when I'm the one who has been lying to his face.
The phone rings in my ear as the taxi driver drives towards the nearest coffee shop that what open at such a late time. I didn't want to go back to the hotel yet, I couldn't. I had to sort out my mind and figure everything out before hand.
"Angela?" Landon's voice echoes through the phone in confusion as to why I had called him. "I didn't expect you to be calling me." His voice is as kind as it was before despite the way I treated him.
Suddenly, I felt stupid. It was wrong of me to call Landon, leaping for help and always running back to him for a 'sympathy kiss'.
"You know what, it doesn't matter now." I place my hand over my forehead that seems to bang with frustration as the heavy rain beats the window. "I'll see you in New York when I get back."
"Don't be daft." He replies to me in a mocking tone as I am about to end the call. "I know things haven't been...great between us, but that doesn't mean that I won't be a friend to you even if I had wanted more than that."
"Oh well, thankyou Landon." I tell him honestly, not knowing what I did to deserve someone like him. "It means a lot, I haven't been the kindest to you."
"It's ok. I'm ok." Landon sucks in a harsh breath as though he didn't want to think about that night and what was said. "What's happened anyway?"
"Grayson knows." Saying it out loud felt even worse as I stepped out of the taxi after paying for the expensive ride. "He knows about the kiss."
Running into the coffee shop, I press my phone against my ear as I dodge the large rain droplets that soak into my freshly washed hair. The street was empty and so was the shop as I wondered in, my hair soaking along with my clothes.
"Ahh." Landon says in tone that made me feel like the bad person and it couldn't get fixed.
"I know, it's terrible!" I exclaim as I walk towards the counter, a tired looking teenager standing behind the wooden desktop and I somehow managed to retrieve my purse from the bottom of my bag. "I have no idea how he found out- expresso please." I tell the boy as I hear Landon's loud gulping through the phone.
"It was me." He admitted and I furrowed my eyebrows at what I had just head. "I told Grayson about the kiss."
"What?" I ask in disbelief, the boy in front of me looking at me with a frown as I had spoken to loud. "I don't understand."
"What did you expect, Angela?" Landon asks and I can hear high pitched, childish laughter in the background - he was obviously still in work. "Grayson's a good friend of mine, I'm not just going to go behind his back, kiss his girl and then not tell him. The guilt was eating me alive, I had to tell him."
"Then you should have let me or at least warned me before he flipped moods on me!"
"Well then when were you going to tell him? Tonight? Tomorrow? Never?"
"I was waiting for the right moment, I couldn't have just sprung it on him. But you did." I knew I sounded crazy but I simply didn't care.
The coffee was hot as the boy placed the mug on the counter before I carefully picked up the steamy liquid to carry it over towards a table. The stools were high - too high, I had to practically jump to perch upon it.
