John had had a rough day. He was tired, and had a splitting headache by the time all of his back to back meetings at work were done. Alexander and Jefferson had argued in every single meeting, and some how managed to argue even when they were in separate meetings across the building.
He jogged up the stairs, since the elevator was broken, just his luck. He was almost to the top, when he slipped, falling on his face and hitting his nose. He groaned, and laid on the floor for awhile. Is this what it had come to? He was just trying to walk up the stairs to his damn apartment. What did he do?
He pushed himself off the ground, and sat against the wall. He pulled out his phone, and opened Snap Chat. He opened a few stories, looked over them, and eventually was going to get off, when a brand new story popped up. Curiosity won, and he clicked on Lafayette's story.
The video that came up, was of a back yard, decorated in beautiful flowers. There was a hammock swinging slowly in the corner. John sighed, listening to the soft music play in the background.
John read over the words in the middle. 'Can't wait for mon amour to come home' it read. John smiled widely. He stood, rushing up to his apartment, fumbling over the keys and quickly opening his door.
He threw down his bag and keys, pulling his shirt off as quickly as he could. It got stuck n his head, but John was in so much of a power rush he just stumbled around blindly, shoving his dress slacks off and his work shoes.
John muttered a curse to himself, pulling his shirt back on his body, slowly taking his tie off so he wouldn't choke himself. He quickly ran to his closet in nothing but boxers, throwing the doors open and digging around for a pair of nenes and a regular t shirt. He threw on the white tshirt and ran into the bathroom.
John forced the hair tie holding his haor back out, the mass of curls proofing everywhere. He sighed, and tried to brush it back. That didn't work. The decent curls exploded into pure fuzz. John just gave up, refusing to deal with this any longer, grabbing a new hair tie and running out of his room.
Grabbing his keys and coat off the coffee table, he tucked his phone into his pocket and ran out the door. He ran down the stairs, careful not to fall this time, and threw the lobby and out to his car.
John clambered in, shutting the door and fumbling over the keys to start his car. "Fucking hell!" He cursed, before finally getting the right key and starting the ignition. He pulled out of the parking lot, and drove away. John was down the road, and pulling into Lafayette's parking lot a lot faster than the speed limit probably allowed.
He turned his car off, climbing out and slamming the door. He locked his car, walking up to the door and deciding he'd just go threw the back. Lafayette was obviously in the backyard anyway. John tucked his keys in his coat pocket, walking to the side of his partner's house and unlocking the gate. He walked back, carefully setting his coat on the crystal clear table. He looked around, searching for the hammock, and, most importantly, his boyfriend.
John spotted them, and began calmly walking over, the bright vibrant green grass making soft squish sounds under his feet. Lafayette perked up, turning to John and giving him a huge smile. "I knew you saw" Lafayette chuckled, embracing John as soon as he was close enough and falling carefully back onto the hammock. John was on top of Lafayette, and he only relaxed into the others arms as Lafayette worked his hair out of its band.
Lafayette began to play with John's hair, and he slowly felt his headache fade away. He laid there, almost motionless, cuddling into Lafayette's chest as the taller of the two rocked the hammock softly. John fell asleep to the rise and fall of Lafayette's chest, and the gentle sound of the bright, beautiful summer breeze.
