((I don't know what their ship name should be but, Jefferson and Aaron everyone))

close your eyes, i know what you see... the darkness is high, and you're in ten feet deep.

When Thomas opened the door to their dark apartment, that was the first thing he heard. Singing. He sighed, and set his brief case down. After discarding his jacket next to it, he began slowly walking down the hall towards the room with the singing.

but we've survived, more terrible monsters than sleep... and you know I, will be here to tell you to breathe.

Thomas chuckled quietly to himself as he stood outside their daughter's door. He smiled softly, leaning his head against the door frame to listen. He pulled back for a moment, and walked to his and Aaron's room, removing his shoes and loosening his tie. He began changing into his comfortable after work clothes, trading his slacks and button up for a tank top and sweats.

Tu sei il mio soldatino, la ragione percui vivo...non ti scordar di me...il vegliero su de ti

Thomas was back at the door again, listening, in his head imagining what was happening in the room just a door away from him. He didn't want to interrupt, he knew better. This was Aaron and Theodosia time, and he honestly didn't think Aaron wanted to see him after the fight they had last night. Thomas sighed and placed his head on the door carefully, trying to push the fight to the back of his mind.

stumbling lost, the last choice of all that you meet; it's the cost of ruling those neath your feet. Paths you've crossed, and trust your trying to keep. You're exhausted; listening for a voice that can't speak.

Thomas sighed, nodding at that. That part of the lullaby always stuck out to him, how true it was about Aaron. About how hard he tried, but always seemed to fail. Especially when trying to get that promotion... Again the fight crept into his mind. The adoption papers, the hi-fen, the last names... God, Thomas felt awful. He shouldn't have gotten mad. That was yesterday night. He had left, spent the night at James, and hadn't come back till now. Thomas felt like shit, he knew Aaron  would probably want him gone for good. He had unholy abandonment issues and Thomas had promised nothing would ever make him want to ditch in the middle of the night like that.

But look what he did.

"Oh Aaron, dear.." He whispered the next line of the song, replacing their daughters name with Aaron's.

Tu sei il mio soldatino, la ragione percui vivo...non ti scordar di me...il vegliero su de ti. So you run, through shadows you roam...

Thomas knew that was true about Aaron too. The running. Well, that was more true about Thomas now than ever. He was surprised he didn't come home to find Aaron and Theo gone, with nothing but a note explaining why. Maybe not even that. If Thomas wouldn't have left...if he would've let Aaron explain the whole ordeal... Aaron was the lawyer, there had to be a good reason why half of Theo's last name wasn't Thomas's. He didn't even care anymore, he just wanted Aaron back.

Seams undone, by the love you thought you could hold. But he's just one, of many that you might call home, and maybe someday... the bitter will fade from your bones...fade from your bones...

Thomas perked up at that. He had added that line when he and Aaron first got together. When they first started dating, Aaron had horrible nightmares about his last relationship. About stuff he wasn't okay telling Thomas. Thomas had agreed, and asked what he could do to help. Aaron had simply said ' hold me'. Once Thomas had pulled the shorter man to him, he started quietly singing this very lullaby to himself threw tears, until his hiccups died down and he stopped crying. Thomas noticed, after about the second nightmare, that Aaron only had one verse. SO he added another, interrupting Aaron before he could continue repeating himself, and singing the verse he tried hard to perfect.
