Alexander would be on his computer till the break of dawn if John let him. It honestly wasn't fair if you asked Alexander, but John insisted sleep was necessary. Tonight, however, Alex had chosen to get up and type anyway. He had an essay due in 3 months, and it was 16 pages total. Are they kidding? 3 months for 16 pages? Alexander had scoffed when the teacher said it, and had finished all 16 within the first assigned day. Now, he was on page 20, and nearing the end of it.

It was 2 in the morning when John finally woke up to the clicking and clacking of Alexander. He groaned, moving out of bed and marching down the hall to the living room, where Alexander sat, typing and clicking, eyes trained on the screen, brows furrowed and lip bit. John admitted, he did think Alex was adorable when he bit his lip. But he didn't think it was adorable when Alexander stayed up and never slept.

"Alexander come back to bed." John tried.

"I have an early class at dawn." Alex lied.

John slumped over to the curtains, pulling them back to reveal the pitch black streets of their block.

"It's still dark outside."

"I know, I just needed to write something down." Alexander said, eyes never leaving the screen, hands never faltering. John walked over to him, and moved the lap top out of his hands. "Alexander." He muttered. Alex's fingers kept moving, eyes glazed over, almost as if he was asleep. The lap top was closed now, and placed on the table, but his fingers were still moving. John kneeled in front of Alex on the couch. "Alexander?" He said a little sterner.

Alex jumped awake some, fingers stopping, instead Alex cracked his knuckles then his wrists. John sighed, and sat in Alexander's lap, waking him up fully. "Alexander~" john chimed, nuzzling his nose against Alex's neck. Alex blushed darkly, leaning his head so John had more access to his neck. John planted butterfly kisses across the skin, smirking as Alexander shivered.

He brought his head up, looking over Alexander confidently. He ghosted his lips to Alex's, pausing for a moment, making Alexander move forward to smash their lips together. John forced Alex to make the kiss soft, slow. He waited until Alexander was whining and begging for John to open his mouth before deepening the kiss, his hands holding steady to Alexander's waist. Alex let out a breathy moan into the kiss, smiling, relieved.

John moved to push Alexander back onto the couch, continuing to ghost kisses across Alex's neck, making him shiver. Alex gave a happy smile, closing his eyes and melting into John. The two cuddled onto the couch after that, John still laying on top of Alexander, his arms on either side of Alexander's head, John's snuggled into the crook of his neck. Alex had his arms around John's wait, his nose tucked into John's shoulder. Alexander could die right there and not regret a single thing. John smelled like fresh hay and lavender and Alex giggled to himself for noticing.

"What's so funny?" John asked, leaning back to smirk at him. Alex shrugged, giggling a bit more. "Because i just pointed out your smell like we're in some cheesy romance novel." Alex replied, moving to sit up on his elbows. "Like when the girl dedicates the smell of a guy she likes to memory like a fucking stalker then goes on for like three paragraphs about how she'd buy a fucking candle with his smell on it." John chuckled, thinking over the idea a bit before looking at Alexander. "What do i smell like?" John asked. Alex smiled softer at him. "Lavender and kinda... that fresh hay smell from when we went down to your family farm?" He raised an eye brow, smiling as John leaned in to nuzzle his neck again. "You smell like old books, the good kind. Kind of like an old library." John sighed, but Alexander just laughed again. John sat up, pouting slightly.

"whats so funny?" He asked. Alexander sighed, wrapping his arms around John's neck and kissed his nose, pulling him closer. "You made it cheesy, farm boy." Alex said, watching John blush slightly. Alex never called him farm boy, only Herc ever really called him that, and before John would claim he's more new yorker than Hercules, but it was different with Alex. I mean, that comebacks hard to use when your basically dating the living embodiment of New York anger itself. John smirked slowly. If Alexander was going to use a nickname he never used, so was John. "Awe cmon, Lexi, we can be cheesy every once in awhile." He smiled, watching Alexander blush. "John you know i dont like being called Lexi."

"And you know i dont like being called farm boy"

"....fair enough." Alexander smiled, leaning in to kiss John again.

John didn't let it get too far, before stopping Alex by pulling back. Alexander gave a whine, pouting at him. Dammit that pout... "Let's move this to our room, baby girl." John said, pulling the nickname to make sure Alexander wanted to. "the couch is so uncomfortable, it'll do a number on your back." John smiled, biting his lip for extra measure. Alex blushed, watching John's lip for a moment before agreeing.

John helped Alexander up, taking his hand and walking them to their bedroom. John let Alex walk in first, before shutting the door. When he turned around, Alex was sitting on the bed, watching John with intent eyes. John tilted his head at Alex, smirking slightly, making his way over to the smaller of the two. Placing his hands on Alexander's shoulders, he slowly pushed him back into the bed, climbing over him. Alexander smiled, wrapping his arms around John's neck. John laid onto of him, hands lazily in his hair. John gave a yawn.

"Aren't you glad i made you put down that computer?" John asked, closing his eyes and smiling sleepily.

"ye-OH MY GOD MY ESSAY" Alexander tried to get up, but John held him down. "Alexander Hamilton i demand you sleep." John muttered tiredly.

"but John-"

"no kisses for a week if you leave this bed before 8" John, taking a moment before nodding to himself. He couldn't really remember the time class started, but Alexander laid back with a defeated sigh, which told John he won.

" i love you baby girl." John kissed Alexander's cheek.

"I love you too."
