Alexander Hamilton was a very passionate man... about certain things, that is. Sure, he was passionate about work (overly so) and yeah of course he was passionate about doing what was right... most of the time anyway. But what Alexander was really passionate about, what he loved most in the world, and cared the most for, and wanted to protect the most, was his pride and joy. His beloved Philip. He knew, Alexander absolutely knew, that as soon as Philip came into the world, nothing else came close to mattering as much as him. Not work, not eating, not sleeping, not anything. Philip. Came. First.
Which is why when his unknown soulmate's tattoo changed from equality, to Philip, he knew something was up. Either his soulmate had met someone named Philip, had a child named Philip as well (which would be awkward) or it was someone he knew. Alexander and his friends never talked about soulmate passion marks, as they were called. The little word on the rist of your dominant hand that would tell you the passion of your soulmate.
But that day, Alexander was positive to confront each and every one of his friends about their soulmate passion marks. He already knew a few people who had found their soulmates, for example: Hercules and Lafayette and Maria and Peggy. Alexander knew that narrowed it down to a few others: Angelica Schuyler, Aaron Burr, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson and John Laurens. Alexander was a little ashamed that all three of the democrats had ran across his mind before John, but... he honestly didn't want to admit to himself that John could be a possibility. I mean, this is soulmates we're talking here, and he and john are very close friends.
Alexander had gotten up and ready, and was almost out the door when he realized Philip was still on the couch in his pajamas, watching cartoons like he did every morning. Alexander sighed and chuckled at himself. Ever since Eliza died... well let's say he hadn't gotten used to taking Philip to school just yet. He sat down his briefcase, and walked back to the small living room. "Pip? Time to go, bud, cmon lets go get dressed." He smiled, walking in and picking up the remote. The six year old didn't want to, but Alex managed to convince him.
Philip was ready in little under five minutes, with Alexander's help, of course. He had on one of the turtle shirts John had gotten him, and a pair of light blue overalls that Eliza had gotten him for his last birthday. Alexander helped Philip with the straps, smiling sadly. January twenty second... Eliza had died in a car crash at least a month later. Philip was six, he was so small, he didn't understand where his mommy was going, why she was being put in the ground while sleeping. Alexander had been unconsolable for days, and Philip had to stay with Angelica. It was September now, and Alexander had somewhat gotten his life back on track. He would get up, get Philip up, get ready for the day and then leave... and almost immediately walk back in to retrieve Philip which is more than not leaves.
Now he and Philip walked hand in hand out the door and down to the car. Alexander buckled Philip up in his car seat, and walked to his side of the car. He tossed his brief case into the passengers seat and climbed in. He slammed his door shut, making Philip giggle. Alex chuckled, looking at him threw the review mirror. Philip stared back for a moment, before holding his hands up. "Daddy! Daddy!" He chanted. Alex turned to look at him this time, smirking. "Yes, Pip?" He asked. "Picture, picture!" He smiled, both front teeth missing. "Okay bud." Alex said, pulling his phone out and opening the camera. He held it up on selfie view. "Smile pipsqueak!" Alex smiled wide, as did Philip, missing teeth and all.
Alex held the camera down, Philip giggling about how silly they were, and began going threw the phone gallery. Several upon several pictures of he and Philip. Some of Philip and Alexander's friends, and the very first... Eliza, Philip an Alexander. Alex smiled sadly at it, before tucking his phone away and starting the car. He drove for fifteen minutes before dropping Philip off at his daycare. After a few minutes of Philip giving him the usual rundown of how his day should go, and Alex promising to pick him up at exactly the same time he always did, Alexander was able to recite back to his car and drive to work.
