Chapter eight

Chapter Eight

It has been a week since we arrived, and because of his sister we have not even begun to look or Jin. “SHIKA!”

“Yes Shin?” She sings from the changing room. “Is something wrong?”

“Yes, since we have come all you have done is shop. We haven’t looked for Jin at all.” She is quiet. “Shika?”

“Do you doubt me Shin?”

“Yes I am.” I am suddenly pulled into her dressing room. She is

wearing all black leather and her hair is tied back and curled.

She pokes our heads out and points to certain people. “See them?” I nod. “They are suspicious characters our group has been watching for a long time. We think we may be able to find Jin with them, as their leader. So we have been following them.

I am surprised you haven’t noticed yet Shin, with you being so smart and all.”

She pushes me out and I feel bad. “I’m sorry, I should have realized it. I won’t doubt you again.” After a while she comes back out smiling and has a huge bag of clothes.

“Well either way I can understand. Why don’t we go to a store with things for you!?” She drags me out pass the men to a store for men. She buys me outfits, that though not all suits, a young mafia male would wear. After that she takes me to the most dreaded place of all. A salon where my hair is cut in a “fashionable” way.

“It looks great on you!” She squeals loudly. A few others look and smile. “Sorry… Thank you, we will leave now.”

“Enjoy the rest of your date!” The women who did my hair says.

“WE’RE NOT ON A DATE!” I say louder than I should. The smile slightly disappears from Shika’s face. I blush and excuse myself. She walks slowly behind me and is quiet for the rest of the day. When we get back to the hotel she showers and I organize everything. When she finishes I know I need to apologize. “Hey Shika…”

“Hmm…” She answers putting on makeup.

“I’m sorry about earlier. I didn’t mean it like that; I just didn’t want them to misunderstand. I am in love with someone else already.”

“What if I meant it as a date?” My head jerks up to see her watching me with a serious face. I don’t know what to say and just stare. She begins to laugh. “Look at your face! Don’t worry, I didn’t really mean it. I am married and am having a baby already.”

I am in total shock by now. “Then why did you leave? Where is your husband?”

“He knows where I am. I told him I am looking for Jin. And he is close, when hearing I was going with you he said he would watch from afar.”

“Oh… Good, I guess…”

She resumes putting on the makeup and I take a sip of my juice. “Besides, you’re in love with my brother Jin correct?”

I accidently spit out my drink. “Wha…What… What are you talking about?”

She laughs at me and sighs. “You don’t have to lie, I already knew. Why do you think I decided to share a room with you? I wouldn’t share a room with a straight boy.” I blush and she throws clothes at me. “We’re leaving.”

“Where are we going?”

“To look for Jin.”
