Chapter 26

Chapter Twenty Six

"Shin-sama, we were not expecting you back so soon." My attendants bow and I walk pass them quickly to my room.

"No one bother me. I won't be eating dinner tonight either."

Once in my room I slam the door and jump onto my soft bed. It has been a week and a half since I came back. Lani, what she said can't be true. But her voice and anger were so convincing. I want to believe her, but my attendants won't hide anything from me unless ordered by my parents. And what is there to hide?

"Shin-sama please let me come in. I must speak to you." My butler says.

"I am not in the mood old man."

"It involves Jin-sama."

"I don't want to hear it."

"Please, you must. Your parents have made me lie to you my lord."

I quietly get up and open the door. "What?"

"Shin-sama, forgive me. Jin-sama, did call. He called every day, but you were always gone. He also wrote letters, we got one every day as well. And there was one time he arrived here, but you were on a school trip. Please forgive me, I know I shouldn't have, but I must not disobey your parent's orders."

"Listen old man, you are my butler. You are mine. Not there's. Bring me the letters."

"Yes Shin-sama." He comes back with a whole box filled with letters. I spend my night reading all of them over and over again. They are full of concerns and apologizing, but most importantly his love for me. Every letter can't be read without tears. The last one he sent breaks my heart.

Shin,

I really can't live without you. Every day I ask myself what is it that I did wrong. Wrong enough to make you leave me and go to another world entirely. No matter how many times I call you, or how many times I write to you, it is never going to be enough to help my empty heart. I want to see you, touch you. I want to hear your laugh. No matter what I did or how I acted you loved me. No one can ever replace you. You are my everything, not only my best friend, but the person I love most in the world. I truly can't live without you. If this is the end of us, this is the end of me.

What have I done? I should have let him explain. I should have never stopped believing him. The condition he is in right now is all because of me. "I am so sorry Jin." Can I still love you?
