Chapter Fourteen
Something warm crawls into my bed and wraps their arms around me. I turn slowly afraid to wake the perp, especially a huge man who will hurt me. Though relieved, another emotion whirls up inside of me when I see it is Jin.
He grunts when I turn all the way on my side facing him. I don’t know what to do right now. More than three fourths of me wants to stay like that, but what about in the morning when we wake. Will he be gone?
He mumbles something in his sleep and he looks so much like a child. I laugh louder than I should and he opens his eyes. At first he just stares at my heart beats a thousand miles, but then he smiles and hugs me tighter. I decide maybe it would be nice to stay like this and I close my eyes, but I guess Jin didn’t think so.
I feel a light bite on my neck and my eyes jerk open. Jin has a hilarious face and I can’t yell or hit him for biting me. As he continues his childish ways I lie staring at the ceiling. But I do jerk up when I feel something hard against me. He stares into my eyes and I only want to cry. A few tears slip away and he gives me a sympathetic face.
“I’m sorry Jin.”
“What’s wrong Shin?”
“I came back because I am too selfish. I couldn’t give up and now seeing you it is making it harder.”
He hugs me tightly comforting me though he is dead drunk. I can smell the beer and wine in his breath, and unlike the man from before it is soothing. “It’s okay Shin. I’m not mad at you.”
“Says a drunken man…” Well, he won’t remember this. “Shin.”
“Hmm…”
“I love you.” He mumbles something and then falls asleep. I gently kiss his head as a goodbye. “I’m sorry Jin. Goodbye.”
