Chapter Eighteen

I wake the next morning to birds chirping and drapes being drawn. I sigh covering my head for a minute. I get up and look around the room, Jin is gone but my father is there. “Where’s Jin?”

“He left earlier this morning, went to run some errands.” Father seems to be avoiding looking at me. “Get a shower, get dressed and then come down to join us for breakfast.”

I blush as he leaves, covering myself up more, and get up as best as I can. My hips are sore. I finish showering and getting ready for the day. When I get downstairs my parents are laughing like sharing a secret. “Morning…” I sit down slowly and take a drink of my tea.

“Morning.” They say in unison.

“Sleep well?” My mother asks. I glare at them for a moment before smiling.

“Yes…” Not really. Jin kept me up all night. It was my first time too.

“Good.”

I hear commotion in the front room and my parents leave to see what it is. They come back with guests.

“Shin!” A squealing voice says. I am tackled in my seat by Shika while Tiso smiles. She finally let’s go and my butt hurts even worse now. I get up and greet Tiso.

“Please, sit. Jin went out but he should be back soon.”

“Thank you…”

“How are you guys?”

“We’re alright, great. We are trying to get to the doctors for a checkup on the baby, but with what happened we can’t get anywhere without people asking us questions and stuff.”

“We have a family doctor; you really have to do monthly check-ups. We can call him and have him come here. Is that okay mom and dad?”

“Sure…” Then they talk to Shika about the baby and other things. When Jin arrives back at the house it is already dinner time and we are eating dessert.

“Hey sis, Tiso…” He smiles quickly kissing his sisters head then mine. Then he leaves to my room without saying or doing anything else.

“Please excuse me… Send the dessert to my room Ki.”

“Yes Shin-sama.” I follow back after him and lock the door. He is in the bathroom showering.

“Jin, I’m coming in.” I open the door and shut it quickly. “What happened?”

“What do you mean?”

“You were gone a long time. Then you came back and are acting weird.”

“I was out thinking.”

“What about…”

“Just thinking about stuff…” He washes his hair as I stare at him.

“We missed you at dinner. I thought you told my parents you would be back in time.”

“Sorry, I’ll make it tomorrow.” He says with an attitude.

I shake my head and leave the bathroom rolling my eyes. There is a knock on the door and I open it. “Your dessert Shin-sama and your parents told me to bring Jin-sama’s as well.”

“Thank you Ki. Prepare another room tonight. I will be sleeping there.”

“Yes Shin-sama.”

He leaves and I pack a few clothes and toothbrush for bed. Jin doesn’t come out until I leave and I hurry to the room. Maybe he regrets what we did last night. Maybe he regrets being with me. I think I need to think, and he needs to think. It’s up to him with what happens in our relationship next.
