Merlin sat alone in the forest. He had a strong look of concern on his face as he tried to find a way to protect the stories held within the book. The pages pushed the air as he flipped through them.
Howls could be heard in the distance. It was nature's song echoing in Merlin's ears that gave him the idea. Without a second thought, he snapped his fingers and found himself standing on the outskirts of the wolves. I few feet away he spotted a few puppies, taking their first steps into the sunlight that filtered through the green trees.
There was a beautiful variation of colors, from browns and blacks to reds. But only one in the pack could blend with the snow that would fall in the winter months. A pup, who's eyes matched those of her mother's standing beside her.
Knowing it was the only way, he fought himself to sneak behind the small cave. When no one else was looking, he quickly grabbed the white pup and ran. Soon he heard howls and barks growing closer. "I'm sorry," he whispered sadly as he once again teleported.
This time, he arrived in a small cabin he had created for himself. The pup began to whine as he placed her in a small cage. "It won't be long until you are free again," he said apologetically.

Merlin released her near a small village, where she could roam in case she decided to become human.
