My eyes were closed as everything seemed so slow down. I could hear my own breath as something turned on in my mind. I pushed him off of me with all my strength. Gasps errupted from around me. His knife still in his hand, I kicked his stomach. He flew backwards with unbelievable force and landed in the crowd. All I could do was look at my hands before turning around and running.
Eventually I made it to a lake where a dropped to my knees and cried. I touched my face and saw blood on my hand. I was confused and hurt. What had I done to end up here? I splashed cool water on my face. When I opened my eyes, I saw something unbelievable.
It was bae, though he was not in the forest where we had met. He sat on a street corner. Tears steamed down my cheeks, burning my wound. "Baelfire..." I nearly whispered, "what happened to you?" He had heard me somehow and turned to look at me. "Sky? Sky where are you? Why did you leave? What happened to you?" He had seen the scar on my face, but I couldn't tell him why it was there, for I knew Pan could be watching. "Im alright Bae, but I can't come back. I'm so so sorry" I said through tears, "why are you alone?"
He hesitated before looking back with sad eyes. "I left. My father was too consumed. He has too much power. I want to find you." More tears fell from both our eyes. "You can't, you'll be hurt if you try to find me," I told him,"don't be afraid. You'll find a family." He nodded, but I knew he wasn't listening. I heard rustling coming from somewhere around me. "Look at me. I love you Baelfire. Someday I'll find you. Goodbye." Before he could respond I stuck my hand in the water and the illusion disappeared.
I was sat on my knees staring into the water when Pan came up behind me. "What do you want?" I whispered through tears. "Ah, so you've met Baelfire. Nice boy, isn't he?" He said with the intent of using it to hurt me. I turned quickly to stand facing him. "Stay away from him. You've already got me, I won't let you hurt him!" I said angrily. He scoffed with a smirk on his face. "Was that a threat? You don't seem to be in a good position to be threatening me. Dont worry about him, as long as your here, he's safe." I had little faith in his words, but it was all I had to go off of. I turned away and began walking away. "You'll find me at the base of the cliffs tomorrow," Peter proclaimed," meet me there. You have much to learn."______________________________________
I awoke in the tree I had found to sleep in, remembering Pan's request. I was terrified of what was to happen at the cliffs. When I hopped down from my resting place, I spotted Jay approaching. "Hey," he greeted casually, "I brought you these." He handed me a pair of boots. "Thanks," I said insincerely as I slipped them on, "let me guess, you're also my escort?" He nodded and gestured me to follow.
Jay was quiet for a while until we stopped to rest for a moment. I sat on a boulder with by face rested in my hands. "Hey, what happened to your face? You have a huge cut," he asked with concern. I didn't know how to respond, for no one had yet shown any worry for me on this island. " I took a walk. I had freedom. And then a bunch of stupid kids took advantage of a weakling by permanently scarring her face." I held back tears as best I could, but a few fell. "I'm sorry," he said as he sat next to me. I felt his arm wrap around my shoulders. I leaned into him before pulling away and continuing to walk.
