Daisuke had been doing homework for a while now, and Dark was still asleep. Daisuke was fairly sure that, since he didn't actually need sleep, Dark could sleep for a long time, probably sleep for centuries like those mythical creatures in T.V shows or in movies. The kind that get angry when awoken. The red-eyed boy chuckled a little, thinking that that was kind of how Dark was in reality. Still, people had idolized him a little bit.

As Daisuke reflected the impression that his older, less responsible brother had left at the high school, and even at the schools that Daisuke and Wiz went to, something began to feel off. He glanced over his shoulders, somewhat unnerved by the feeling. He attempted to continue his work, trying to ignore the odd feeling. Minutes that felt like hours passed by, and the young teen simply couldn't deal with it anymore. So, he did a quick inspection of his room, walking carefully and quietly due to his paranoia.

"What are you doing?" A voice came from behind him.

Daisuke jumped at the voice and whirled around, heart racing and eyes wide, giving a small squeak of fear.

The winged being who had been behind him couldn't help but laugh. "I scared you that bad? Really?" He cackled, nearly falling from how hard he was laughing.

"Dark! It's not funny, okay!" Daisuke protested, trying to get his heart to slow down, face red from embarrassment.

"Actually Daisuke, it is hilarious, like, you squeaked! C'mon, you would've laughed if you saw it!"

"I don't laugh at people getting scared, you jerk, especially when they have a legitimate reason."

Dark quirked an eyebrow in amused curiosity. "Oh, a legit reason, huh? Alright, shoot, what is it?"

Daisuke huffed defensively, shooting a slight glare. "Well... I dunno, actually... It kinda felt like something was wrong, like something might be in here. It was creepy, alright, so, you know, I had to go look around. Then you decided to be, well, you, and sneak up on me!"

Dark had gotten incredibly solemn while Daisuke was talking, all signs of playfulness completely wiped off his face. "It was a dangerous type of weird, then?" He asked, watching intensely, seeming to study his little brother. It was a look that would probably throw anyone else off, but Daisuke could sense the concern in the words and in his brother's dark purple eyes.

"Yeah, that's why you scared me when you said something, I didn't know you were there."

"Do you still feel like something's here, Daisuke? Do you still feel like you're in danger?"

Daisuke had rarely seen Dark so serious, and it struck him silent. He waited, thinking, then nodded, as a chill crept down his spine.

Dark's eyes narrowed in a protective glare, scanning the room. He seemed to loosen up, confusing Daisuke. Shouldn't he be tensing up, if he thought there was going to be a fight? As his eyes hit the couch in the room, the angel tensed up, seeming ready to fight.

He plucked a long, black feather, not flinching in the slightest, and held it in front of him, glancing around. He muttered something Daisuke didn't understand, maybe Latin or Greek. A short creature, with large, black eyes that seemed piercing with frightening intensity, it had brown fur in random patches and dark blue scales in others, a long tail with barbs, very long fingers with very long claws, and big feet, also with big claws. It stood on two legs, hunched, though it seemed to tentatively touch it's hands, as if to leap off with four limbs.

Upon seeing it, Daisuke let out a small yelp. The creature quickly turned to Daisuke in curiosity, large eyes widening. Dark flinched slightly upon hearing Daisuke, but continued to glare at the creature. After a little more mumbling in a foreign language, Dark threw the feather, piercing the creature in the head, and causing it to vanish into dust.

"What was that?" Daisuke squeaked in horror. He hadn't been ready for such a creature, and he certainly wasn't ready for his big brother to turn it into ashes with a feather.

"A demon, a lower leveled one. Someone probably sent it to keep an eye on you, it's what they're best at." The black-winged teen answered, returning to his original spot on the bed.

 "Who would've sent it?"

"A higher level demon, I'm not sure who though. Those things only really listen to who sent them, even if you threaten to kill them. There's no reasoning and no interrogating with them."

 "Wait, wait, that thing talks?"

"It could've, yeah. Most beings, even other demons, find their voice dreadful though, so there's a chance that that thing would've sent some mind message."

Dark sat on the bed, wings outstretched and eyes closed. To Daisuke, he appeared to be meditating.

 "What are you doing, Dark?"

"I'm sensing. Wings are actually great at picking up auras, I learned this from my mentor."

"Oh... Dark, would I ever have to meet this mentor?"

"Probably not, unless things got too serious... He used to be your guardian angel, but then, well, you became my responsibility."

"Why'd he pass down the responsibility to you? Especially if this is serious, and you're new?"

 Silence.

 "... That's... a good question, Daisuke. I guess I'll ask whenever I can, alright?"

Daisuke might've asked "why not now" if he didn't understand that after encounter, Dark wouldn't leave him alone.

 "Alright. Thanks."
