A vortex swirled, an image in its center. An angel watched through the swirling window, observing his disciple. “You poor fool.” He sighed.

“It’s not like you’re known for your instruction giving skills, and he doesn’t really know how to come back here.” A new angel said.

“Wait, he doesn’t know how to come home? Who taught him? How did he get back before?”

“He didn’t. He hasn’t been to Earth since he died. There’s not really a way to teach someone when they’re already here, right? And if you don’t remember, you taught him everything he knows about how we work.”

“... I hate when you’re right. What do you want me to do, go fetch the kid, and hold his hand and bring him home just to send him back?”

“I don’t expect you to hold his hand, that isn’t how you work. Even so, I do think that as his teacher, you should go down there, and teach him how to get back. One thing you really should do is actually tell him what he’s supposed to be doing. Afterall, his brother was your responsibility first.”

“Actually, as the kid’s older brother, Dark was supposed to watch him all his life, with the exception of that one year.”

“Even then, you should watch him, and even if you could slack off, you should’ve divided your attention between the two for the past year!”

The first angel scoffed, and rolled his eyes. Without another word, he allowed a beam of light to absorb him, bringing him down to the human world quickly.

The remaining angel looked at where the other had been standing a second ago.

“That’s what I thought.”
