The next day, Daisuke entered the class in discomfort. What if someone could see Dark? What if Hiwatari could see him? If Hiwatari saw, Daisuke wasn’t quite sure what would happen. A whole mix of things could happen, and he wasn’t sure he was prepared for any of them, no matter what he told himself.

Dark, on the other hand, was incredibly calm. Despite it being early, he was relatively cheery. Although he was certain no one could see him, he made a point to greet every girl that caught his eye. There were, however, one or two girls that seemed a little flustered, but confused, and, at the moment, whether that was bad or good, it depended on who you asked.

Daisuke froze at the door to his class. On one hand, Hiwatari could not see Dark, but on the other, he could. What would happen if he did? What would he say? What would Daisuke say? Would something happen to Dark? Uncertainties swirled through the fourteen year old’s head,

“Daisuke, c’mon. Open the door.” Dark muttered, annoyed by his brother’s hesitance.

“Good morning, Niwa.” A calm voice said from behind, making both brothers jump. They turned to see none other than Hiwatari.

Dark glared, attempting to maintain a calm appearance. Daisuke, on the other hand, couldn’t manage such a feat, and wore a horrified expression.

“H-Hiwatari! G-good morning! I-I, uh, I didn’t see you there!”

“Of course you didn’t, he was behind you.” Dark hissed, just loud enough to be heard by Daisuke, but not, hopefully, by Satoshi.

“I’m sorry that I snuck up on you then, Niwa. Shouldn’t we go into the classroom though?” The calm teen asked, not seeming to notice Dark.

Dark looked confused, but not for long. His confident, rebellious aura soon came back to him as he studied his little brother’s classmate.  Did Hiwatari not notice him? That made no sense to the angel. He was, firstly, tall. Secondly, he was a dead person who was standing right there. Thirdly, it would make sense if it were anyone else, but Hiwatari heard him last night. Why couldn’t he see him?

Daisuke nervously opened the door, and gestured for his classmate to go first. Hiwatari flashed a small smile in gratitude, and walked in. Daisuke followed, confused. His nerves were slowly calming down, but he was still on the edge.

“Hey, um, Hiwatari, are you feeling better today?” He asked, slightly awkwardly.

Hiwatari turned around, to look at him, a hint of surprise on his face. Clearly, he hadn’t expected Daisuke to remember his queerness from the day before.

“... Yes, I’m fine. No need to worry. What about your phone, what happened?”

“Oh, ah, my brother was messing with it,that’s all…”

Dark shot Daisuke a glare, knowing he wasn’t talking about Wiz.

“Hey, Niwa. You seem… Distracted… Tense. Are you okay?”

“Oh, um, of course I’m okay! Y-you know me, I just have my head in the clouds, I guess.”

“Having your head in the clouds sounds unhealthy, it should probably be with your body, on the ground.”
