"I miss ATL so much, I wanna come back." I whined.

"Girl," Josh laughed, "it's literally been a month."

"Still. I miss you and Daniel..."

"And your girlfriend."

I blushed, "she's not my girlfriend."

"Yes she is. How are things with y'all anyways?"

"It's whatever. We text every single day. And when both of us have the time, we're on the phone. But you know that time difference is a bitch, she's two hours ahead of me. So sometimes I may be sleep or busy, but she's awake and vice versa. I hate it, but whenever we do talk it's like nothing else matters."

"And what about Kehlani?"

"Lani is fine, we still talk. Hang out a lot, and she's like my bestfriend."

"Despite you two fucking?"

"Josh." My eyes widened at his question, "we've moved past that and we don't speak on it."

"Yeah mhm. And how's my baby Lauren?"

I shrugged, but then realized he couldn't see me so I gave him a verbal answer. "I don't know, when we got here she was pretty cool and everything. But now she barely talks to me anymore. She just sits in her room or goes down to the beach."

"Y'all live by a beach?"

"Yeah."

"Oh bitch, when I come over there it's lit as fuck."

"Boyyyyy you already know. I got--"

"Zo," Lauren came over to me, "I need to talk to you."

"Hold on Josh I'm gonna call you back."

"Okay."

I hung up the phone and sat up, patting a spot on my bed for her to sit. "What's up?"

"Nothing. I just wanted you off the phone so we can watch my movie."

"Lauren."

"I miss spending time with you."

"You don't act like it. You stopped talking to me when we moved here."

"Because I didn't want to move and I was upset that you moved all because Lani wanted you to. I don't know why you didn't just change your mind. Y'all aren't even together."

"L.A is a great change and a fresh new start. I don't think you're upset that we moved, I think you're upset that you have to make new friends."

"That too, but I've already made two friends. Taylor and Jasmine."

"Is that who you're always at the beach with?"

"Yep, they cool or whatever."

I shook my head at her, "what's this movie?"

"It Follows. I ain't wanna watch it alone."

"Of course you didn't."

I laid back against the headboard as the movie started playing. Lauren laid down and put her head in my lap. For a minute I was playing in her hair, but then I got a text. I picked up my phone and looked at it, smiling once I seen who it was from.
