~Devina's POV~

When I woke up, I was laying on a concrete floor

When I woke up, I was laying on a concrete floor. I frowned and looked around. I was in a cell. My heart began racing as I tried to piece everything together. How long was I out? Where am I? What happened? Unfortunately, the possibility of this disaster being a dream quickly faded out. I rubbed my hazy eyes and slowly got up, but soon realized that that was a bad idea. My vision was clouded as I fell back down, my body completely protesting my actions. My head was pounding. I guess this is what it feels like to be knocked out. Once I regained my vision I stood back up. There was a heavy metal door on one of the walls, the only way out. I ran over to it and started desperately banging.

"Let me out!" I screamed. "Help! Someone, please help me!" I banged on the door until my hands were surely bruised and my voice was just barely a whisper. "Please."

"What do you mean it didn't work?" I yelled, not able to control my anger anymore.

"Alpha, I'm sorry he wasn't there. He must have fled when we started-" I threw a punch at my wall. It's either that or one of my warriors.

"Now tell me what exactly happened before I snap your neck and rip off your limbs." I calmly said once I regained my self-control.

"We killed almost everyone in the school." My blood boiled as I heard my second-in-command's words.

"Almost?"

"There was a girl and we didn't have time to kill her so we brought her here. To the dungeons." He said with his head bowed.

"Let me see her," I growled. "Maybe we can get some information." I started walking towards the dungeons when I smelled something. It smelled like lavender. I closed my eyes and savored the scent. "What's that smell?" I turned back around to one of my guards.

"What? I don't know Alpha." He replied and I turned back towards the dungeon. Can that possibly be- no. I pushed the thought from my mind as I opened the door. We didn't usually keep people in here, just rogues waiting for their punishments.

"Is she a rogue?" I asked as I stomped down the hallway.

"No Alpha, she's human." I came to an abrupt stop as the scent got more intense.

"Then why did you take her? She won't know anything. Daniel, I gave you one job!" I yelled and started walking back towards the pack house, the scent fading. I know one of my main mottos is not to give mercy, but to bring a fragile human girl to a place like this? I felt appalled by the idea.

"Alpha I was going to kill her but we didn't have time. I didn't want to get caught." He pleaded while trying to catch up with me. I turned back around and held my hand out stopping him from colliding into my chest.

"What am I supposed to do with her now?" I growled. "You know what? This is your mess. You clean it up." And with that, I huffed towards the pack house and locked myself away in my office. I couldn't stop thinking about that smell. I wanted to go back and see what it was but I knew it wasn't a good idea so I did what any other guy would do. I called one of my lovely pack members to distract me.

~Devina's POV~

I slowly backed away from the door and leaned against the cold wall, letting a tear fall to the floor.

"Please," I whispered one more time before sliding to the floor. There was no use. No one could hear me and no one was looking for me. What will happen to Mr. Freddles? I started to panic. I didn't give him enough food to last longer than a day or two. I was about to jump back up and bang on the door, but a sudden conversion stopped me in my tracks.

"Is she a rogue?" A husky voice asked. I snapped my head towards the door and pulled my knees up to my chest. There were at least three sets of footsteps and they were getting louder. She? Are they talking about me?

"No Alpha, she's human." Another voice replied. Alpha? He must be the boss. And aren't we all humans? The thing that really scared me was how my heart started to race at the sound of his voice. My mind was racing with ideas of what the owner of that voice looked like.

"Then why did you take her? She won't know anything. Daniel, I gave you one job!" The boss yelled. I froze at the sound of Daniels's name. He was coming. I covered my ears with my hands, not wanting to hear their footsteps grow torturously louder. I don't know how, but I soon fell asleep against the cold wall.

"Wake up!" I heard someone yell right before they kicked my already hurt ribs. I wheezed in pain and scrambled to my feet. Daniel was smirking while holding a pistol in his hand.

"Boss says you're my mess so I can do whatever I want." He stepped closer and I instinctively moved back.

"Then please let me go." I pleaded and took another step back. He laughed and lunged forward at my neck. Now pinned against the wall by his rough hands I tried to kick and scream but nothing came out, his hands were too tight around my neck for any noise to slip through. Then we both heard a loud bang and my heart started racing again. I wiggled out of Daniel's grip, using his distraction to my advantage, and ran out of the open door. Daniel's first mistake. I didn't dare to look behind me, I just ran as my life depended on it because it did. I hurried down the corridor for a few seconds before I collided with a hard chest.

"What-" The voice was interrupted by Daniel yanking me back. "What are you doing?" I took this as a chance to look up at the boy. My breath caught in my throat as I looked up at his face and met his eyes. My heart was racing and my palms were sweating. I had to crank my neck up because he was so tall. His clean-shaven jaw was clenched as he fought something within himself. I let my eyes wander up to his full lips and broad nose, the way his green eyes bored into mine sent shivers through my body.

"She's my mess so I'm taking care of it," Daniel smirked and pulled me back down the hallway toward my cell.

"No. No please not again." I pleaded and thrashed around in his grip.

"What were you doing to her?" The boy ran after Daniel and pulled me back towards him. He had a strange look on his face like he was trying to figure out who I was. Maybe he was.

"Just having a little fun Alpha." He grabbed my arm again and shoved me into the cell. "Why do you care?" Daniel asked, knowing "Alpha" had followed him into the room. I knew too because of my abnormal heartbeat. Daniel shoved my back into the wall and punched me in the ribs. I looked over to the other boy for help. His eyes swirled with several emotions, conflict showing the most.

"Please," I whispered, looking him right into his green eyes.

"Let. Go. Of her." He growled and pushed Daniel away, making me fall to the floor, hitting my head on the way down. My vision was starting to blur and fade again but the last thing I saw was what really terrified me. The boy was tearing Daniel's head off and throwing it across the room.
