~Devina's POV~
Once Zane had decided that I was well enough to go out, I hurried back to Dylan's house to start getting ready. Unsurprisingly, he wasn't home so it was just me. In some way, I kind of prefer it that way. Not because I don't like Dylan, but because it's nice to have some alone time sometimes. I practically ran to my room and started digging through my closet. After a few minutes, I finally found a black dress that I had bought with Gillie a few weeks ago. I smiled and pulled it on. It fit perfectly. I hurried into the bathroom and twirled around in front of the mirror. After a few twirls, I went into my makeup. I kept things simple with just some concealer, mascara, eyeliner and chapstick. Right when I finished, the doorbell rang. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest as I made my way downstairs. When I finally reached the door, I slowly opened it and shyly smiled at Zane.
"I-I um these are for you." He awkwardly handed me a beautiful bouquet of roses and scratched the back of his neck. "You-you look really good." He closed his eyes and chuckled. "You look beautiful."
"So do you." My eyes widened and my cheeks flushed. "I mean you look very-very um handsome." He smirked and my face felt like it was burning. "Why is this so awkward?" I tilted my head back and groaned. He chuckled again and grabbed my hand, lacing our fingers together.
"I'll try to make it as comfortable as I can Sunshine. But let's get going." I giggled and pulled him outside to his Audi.
"I miss your GT-R." I laughed and he stopped walking.
"I'll call someone to come bring it." He went to take his phone out of his pocket but I grabbed it out of his hands.
"No. I didn't mean it like that," His phone vibrated in my hand and out of instinct I checked it. Then my heart sank and I wish I didn't.
"What? Who is it?" I wanted to know the same thing, the number wasn't saved into his phone but the message was a really revealing picture of someone in their matching black bra and lacy underwear. The only thing sent after that was "-A". I handed him the phone and faked a smile.
"Um, just someone whose name starts with A." I tried to laugh. "Sorry for looking." I was proud of myself for not reacting too much, as for Zane, he just checked the message and his eyes widened.
"I-I um I didn't ask for that-" I cut him off with a smile and started walking towards the car.
"It's fine. Let's just go, I don't want to stay out too late." I opened the passenger side door and sat down. Zane soon followed and started the car. Usually, if I was alone in the car with someone I would ask where we were going, but I never asked Zane. Maybe because I was afraid of the awkward socialization.
"I thought, we would just go out to dinner and maybe go for a walk afterward?" He finally spoke as we pulled up to a nice looking restaurant.
"Sounds good." I got out of the car and fixed my dress. Zane walked around to my side and watched me with a smirk planted on his lips.
