"No."
"Please."
"Hell no."
"Come on, Hailey."
"Tyler I will not come to the beach with you"
"Seeing me shirtless won't kill you Hailey. It might but you can handle it."
"Hailey, lets go,"said Selena.
"Ho can you support him? Am I not your best friend?"
"Yeah you are and that is exactly why I love seeing you tortured."

I sighed and gave in. This was the most cliche moment of my life. Going to the beach with my hot and annoying bad boy neighbour. Emphasis on hot. I can't believe I met someone more stubborn than me. Especially when paired up with my best friend.

"On one condition. Selena and Alec have to come," I smirked. These two were meant for each other I had a plan to make sure they'd get together. Today at the beach.

"They were going to come anyway," Tyler said, shrugging.
"Then you can go now. I need to complete some homework. We'll leave in an hour," I stated as I cut the call with Selena. Once the coast was clear, I called Alec.

"Alec? It's Hailey. We're going to the beach in an hour and Selena is coming. And I know you like her and you better ask her out today."
"But that's not fair. I have no idea what to do. She's not going to say yes."
"Then you're the most oblivious person I have met. Now look your best because she might say no if she thinks you're an ogre. Bye."

An hour later, I had worn a navy blue bikini under my loose crop top and shorts. There was a tap on my window. And that's my cue. I made my way downstairs to see Tyler waiting for me.

"Nice car, Mendes."
"Thanks but you know the owner is even better."
Arrogant idiot.
"I'm riding shotgun. I'm putting some stuff in the back and that's where Alec and Selena are going to sit." He raised an eyebrow at this, getting what I meant.
"I'll tell Zac, Blake and Chase to go in the other car," he said smirking.
"Perfect!," I replied, holding my hand out for a high five before withdrawing it immediately. We weren't friends, not really. We were just part of a plan.

We were staying in Paris
To get away from your parents

"Why does every girl like the Chainsmokers?" Tyler groaned.
" Their songs are so catchy," I replied, shocked.
"I really want to run away to Paris once and sneak into Disneyland."
" That's our next stop, princess," Tyler mumbled sarcastically. Damn, he's grumpy.
"Princess? Seriously?"
"Not my fault you're so gorgeous, babe" said Tyler, winking.
"Don't 'babe' me," I mumbled under my breath. I prefer grumpy Tyler to flirty Tyler.

Finally Alec and Selena were there. After five minutes of boredom as we waited downstairs for them, they had come out. I really hope my plan goes as it should. I put my earphones on and blasted some music while Tyler turned off the speakers of his phone. Sure Alec and Selena were cute, but I was third wheeling bad. I guess you have to make sacrifices. This stuffy car was really getting on my nerves. The conversation of my best friends and the noisy traffic soon turned to background music and I fell asleep.

**

"We're here!" Tyler exclaimed happily.
"Why are you so happy?" I asked him, trying to shade myself from the glare of the sun. Alec and Selena exchanged looks and Tyler smirked.
"You're gorgeous when you sleep, princess," Tyler showed me the most embarrassing thing ever. Me, asleep with my head against the seat belt and my mouth open.

"Tyler, run." I ran as fast as my kind of long legs could take me. Unfortunately, that idiot soccer player was a little faster. Finally, with a burst of energy I overtook him and blocked his way. What I hadn't thought about was what to do once I caught up with him. As the endless possibilities ran through my mind, the asshole escaped again.
I give up.

Zac, Chase and Blake were apparently going to be an hour late. I hope Zac doesn't come. I still have feelings for the jerk.
"Hailey!" Tyler snapped his fingers.
"Sorry I -"
"Zoned out. I said we have to get sunscreen. I forgot it."
"Okay let's go. Alec, you and Selena stay here."

Ten minutes later, we returned but then saw that we were going to interrupt something. Smirking quietly, Tyler and I went to get ice cream, turning away from Alec and Selena's make out session.
"Water the flavours here?" Tyler asked as I glanced at them.
"Did you just experiment on a water pun?" I asked confused.
"I dolphinately did."
"You do know they're common and everyone knows them? Now shhh I know you were going to end it with a don't be a beach."
"Don't be a beach!" Tyler gasped trying to feign how hurt he was. I almost snorted at his expression.
"You look like Lana when someone else takes the last pair of shoes which were on sale."
"Please, I'm not a slut!"
I coughed.
"Okay I am a player but not that bad."
I coughed again.
"Heck, I bang hot girls but I leave them alone later and anyway I'm drunk half the time and besides, I'm not cheap and also-"
"You're boring me,"I stated.
"Now you've hurt me twice in the past two minutes, Hailey."
" weren't we here for ice cream?"
He sheepishly muttered a yes.

We waited for the rest of the boys while licking our amazing ice creams which were melting pretty fast in the heat. Finally, everyone arrived and we got ready to go surfing.

"Hey, Hailey."
I turned around, annoyed to see that asshole.
"What do you want Zac?"
"I can help you surf. I'm good at it and besides, we have to get over this hatred." He said. I did not bother to point out that he cheated on me and made me feel this bad. Instead, I sighed in defeat.
This was going to be pretty annoying.

I shivered a little as Zac placed his hands on my waist. No, I don't think I was attracted to that douche bag but I was pretty scared of the ocean.
"Zac, what if a shark eats me?" He chuckled lightly and then replied ," I wouldn't blame it, you look quite amazing." He then proceeded to stare into my eyes and then look away. It wasn't fair. We broke up. He cheated, not me. He couldn't compliment me or flirt with me.
"I'm kind of tired, I'm going back. We have to go back now anyway."
"Wait a sec Hailey. I wanted to say I'm really sorry and I didn't know what I was thinking but you deserve way better than me and I hope you're happy no matter what happens."
"Don't say that." "I'm sorry, bye Hails."
"Bye Zac," I mumbled before getting into the car and with Tyler.

"Are you and Zac getting back together?" Tyler inquired.
"What??!! No!! God no!! I'd never get back with him. I can't trust that asshole," I replied.
"Wow, what had he done that's so bad?"
"Wouldn't he have told his best friend? If he hasn't it's really none of your business," I replied. I knew I was being a total bitch but I was pretty annoyed. The rest of the ride was in silence except for Alec and Selena who were oblivious to my bitchiness and Tyler's hostility. When Alec and Selena went, it got so quiet that I fell asleep again.

"Hailey? Hailey?" Tyler's sexy voice called. Wait, sexy? Did I just say sexy? Maybe I was drunk or something. I replace the sexy with annoying. Better. I then got up, annoyed, but my bitchiness had faded a bit.
"Tyler, I'm sorry I was being a bitch."
"Hey, it's okay," he said, his expression softening. "You must have been tired."
"Bye, Tyler."
"Bye, princess."

As I walked back home, I couldn't help thinking that Tyler wasn't that bad.
