Ama POV
I woke up again from my sleep and shut my alarm off. I swear I looked like a zombie walking to the bathroom. I brushed my hair out and brushed my teeth. I ran downstairs and my mom was getting cereal, milk, and OJ out.
"Look who is up bright and early." "Yeah, I am going on a quick run before breakfast. I'll be back soon!" My mom nodded of approval and I ran out the door. We had a nice neighborhood to walk and run in. The great thing about it was that there were no blind hills.
I ran around the whole neighborhood trying to beat my record of running. I got back to the house when everyone finished eating. I didn't beat my time, but I was definitely close. "A quick run?" My mom asked smiling. I slumped into my set and wolfed down my cereal. It's a gift many teens have.
All of us ran to meet the bus that was about to leave.
Ha! We weren't late! Well...I wasn't late.
Just then I realized I still had on my clothes from the day before and just put on a sweater over it.Great job, Ama. Now you look like a rat.
The school was in view and kids were getting dropped off. Then I saw Hayden.
I guess his parents drop him off and pick him up.
He was wearing a jacket with his headphones around his neck again. He must love his jackets and headphones. I stepped out of the bus and it was burning outside.
How can he wear a jacket with his sleeves rolled down and not be hot? Wait, he is hot. Wow...I just thought that.
I got to my locker when a swarm of girls pushed passed me. I glanced over to where they were heading and it was to Hayden's locker. In just a day, he is one of the most popular boys in school.
I pushed my way through people to get to my class. I got to my desk and got my notes out once again. The class started and I started writing like my life depended on it. A few times I caught myself staring at Hayden. Why was I staring at him? I don't know. The morning flashed by and that meant lunch was coming up.
"Are you going to eat with us? Or are you going to eat with your boyfriend?" A girl teased. I rolled my eyes. No one was sitting with him."Hey." He smiled a bit and nodded. Gosh, why is he so attractive when he does that? We 'chatted' and ate our food.
When there was an awkward silence between us, he would doodle in his sketchbook every now and then. The more he sketched, the more I wanted to know what he was drawing.
The embarrassing thing was that he caught me staring at him a few times. I don't know why I felt so awkward.
The bell signaled the end of lunch and we were off to our next classes.~~~
"So do you like him?" Rachel asked. Today was cheer practice and I told Rachel about Hayden.
"I don't know! Should I him?" "Now I have to meet him." I stared at her, is she serious. "Why?" "Because you're talking about him nonstop. And plus I'm your best friend, and I should meet him." I rolled my eyes and laughed.
~~
Tomorrow I had an algebra test. Yay. I hate algebra. I don't know what's so great about it. Everyone thinks it's so amazing. And the stress about studying is worse.
None of this makes sense!
To get my nerves off of studying, I decided to go on a walk through the park.
The park that usually ran in and walked was across the road from the entrance to our neighborhood. Turn on my running playlist on my MP3 player.
The run was great. It definitely got my mind off of the studying for a while.
~~~~~"All right. Turn over your paper. You may start." My algebra teacher said. For the first minute, I was staring at my test like an idiot.
You've got to be joking. Ama calm down. You can do this. You worked hard for this.
The test went by quickly, thank goodness. If it lasted longer than this, I would've probably been dead.
I wonder what my score is.
We finished a lecture and we got our papers back.
B+
I do as bad as I thought I did. I studied well.
Good job Ama.
Lunch came again and I sat with Hayden again. He was sketching in a notebook again. I longed to see what was in the notebook. Instead of me talking and him signing, I signed as well. We both went back-and-forth, it was very interesting. He was quicker at signing than me, and it took me a little longer to figure out what he was saying.
~~~~~Instead of sleeping in I was wakened by my dad.
"Who's ready for a date with dad?" He asked in a hilarious voice. I love my dad. "Can I at least sleep in?" I asked through my pillow.
My dad ended up literally dragging me out of my bed. Oh, the memories.Josie, Judy, my dad, and I drove off to the mall. I can't remember the last dad and daughter date we all had together.
Once we entered the mall, I immediately went to the Starbucks. It was still morning, and I was still waking up.
"Okay, girls. Where would you like to shop first?" My dad asked. "We should go to Claire's!" Josie exclaimed. Claire's had to be one of my sister's favorite stores. They had earrings, jewelry, backpacks, hats, makeup, and so much more. We headed to Claire's and shopped around there. I bought some new nail polish that matched our tumbling colors. (Blue, grey, and black) I have no idea what my siblings bought. I bet
The next store went to was Justice. I picked out a few cute T-shirts and A jersey jacket.
We went to quite a few stores, but one of my favorites was Bath and Bodyworks. I just loved smelling candles, perfumes, and lotions. I know I'm not the only one who does it. Admit it.
I was obsessed with candles. Still am. And always will be. I had a collection on my nightstand of candles.Oh my gosh! The smell!!!
Aargh!Yeah, there is no chill in me when it comes to candles.
I was walking around when I accidentally bumped into a person. "Oh! Sorry!" The person turned around, and to my surprise it was Hayden! What the heck is Hayden doing in Bed, Bath, and Bodyworks? Its eyes widened, which I found kind of cute. "Hayden! What are you doing here?" "Shopping for my aunt." He signed back.
He looks the same as usual. He had his headphones around his neck and his regular jacket on. And he was just plain cute.Wait what?
"What are you doing here?" He signed it to me. "I am on a dad and daughter date." He nodded. "Ama! Smell this candle! Oh, my g- Who is he?" Josie interrupted herself. "Josie this is Hayden." Josie started mentally giggling to herself.
What a child. Honestly.
Hayden nodded in greeting and my dad showed up.
"Hello. Who are you?" Hayden looked at me for help. "Dad, this is Hayden. He goes to my school." "Ah, so this is Hayden!"
The thing was I felt the blood rushing up to my cheeks. What was wrong with me? I never blushed.
My dad knew sign language so he understood perfectly what Hayden was saying. "Yes, sir. I am guessing you are Ama's father?"Awwww! Hayden is so polite.
"Yes, I am."
There was a very awkward silence between all of us.
Then a man came up to Hayden, "Alright! Are you ready to go home?" Hayden nodded.
I am guessing this is his dad.
"Ah! Are you Ama?" I nodded, "Hayden has told me a lot about you!" I looked at Hayden and I could tell he was A bit red. "Thank you so much for being friends with Hayden." I smiled politely. Sadly Hayden and his dad had to leave. But it was a very nice price to see them. Now I know his dad looks like. Then I thought about something...
Hayden told his dad about me?
