Ama POV

Right when my alarm went off I jumped out of bed and started getting ready. This wasn't me at all! What was wrong with me? I started putting my clothes on and brushed my hair out flat. Stuffed all my homework in my backpack and headed downstairs. To my surprise no one was awake yet. I started getting cereal, milk, and orange juice out for everyone. "Why are you up so early?" Mom asked. "I don't know. I'm just so excited! I get have my childhood friend back!" I got everything out I decided to go on a really quick run around the neighborhood.
~~
I ate my cereal as quick as I possibly could and I waited at the bus stop. My siblings were a few minutes later than me and then Lucas and Sarah followed behind. "Are you excited for your first day?" I asked. "Yeah." Lucas said. The bus came, finally, and we all got in.
Sarah and I talked while Lucas was talking with Dylan.
"I'm so glad you get to stay here again!" I said. "Aw. Me too." Sarah sighed.
~
I was getting things out of my locker and the Bryans are signing in. Then I heard squeals.

Who is it this time? Beyoncé?

"Oh my gosh! He's so handsome!"
"Is he new here?"
"He's hot."
"I would totally date him."

I think you already knows who it is.

Lucas

All the girls were swooning over Lucas. It's like they have never met a boy that hot before.

Wait. What?

"Hey, Ama bug." He was right in front of me and ruffled my hair. Today out of all days I had my hair down. I knew I should've put it up. "Hey, Lucas. It seems like you have quite the show. Everyone is falling for you. I bet the teachers even like you." He laughed, "Yeah I hope it's not just because of my looks." I rolled my eyes "Are you bragging?" He rolled his eyes as well.

Classes. I started heading to my first class. It's only been like two weeks, and I'm so tired of taking notes. I sat down and laid my head on the table. I am so sleepy. I looked around the classroom and I saw Hayden.
OMG.... I almost forgot about Hayden. What the heck?!
He looked over at me and smiled a bit. I wish he would fully smile.
~~~
Lunch started and I think Lucas already found his own clique. A bunch of the football players of course. Lucas was a football player, and that's another reason why girls probably like him. My group started waving me over, but then I noticed I didn't spend much time with Hayden yet today. I snuck up behind him to see if he was drawing. This time he was drawing A tree. It look like the willow tree in the cemetery. I sat next to him and he closed his journal. "Hey." He nodded in response. "Thank you for the skateboard. I really love it a lot." "I'm glad you like it." He signed back. "Hey I was thinking maybe we could work some more on our geography project soon." He nodded. "After school?" You asked. "Sure"
"Oh, Hayden!"
I think we all know who this is...
"I was wondering if you want to see my cheer practice after school." Delilah said. I rolled my eyes.
Girl...please... Get your face out of My boyfriend. Wait, what?
Since Delilah didn't know sign language, Hayden took out a piece of paper from his journal and wrote down, 'I am sorry. I have plans.'
"Oh well that's fine. Maybe some other time, babe."
What the-
"Well. I'll leave you to your pity party. Bye." She blew a kiss. She's like the second Regina George. I swear.
~~~
I was about to head out of the school gates with Hayden by my side, but then Lucas came running up to me. "Hey, Ams!" I turned around. "Yea?" "We wanted to know if you would take it to help us finish unpacking at our house." "Sorry, Lucas. I have some homework to do and I have to finish geography project. I am so sorry. If I have time I'll run by your house and see what I can do." "Yeah. Sure. That's fine. Well I'll see you around." With that he headed to the football field.
~
When I walked into the house everything seemed to be different. Hayden was more relaxed, he didn't seem nervous at all, and that was weird. "All righty so what do you we need to do?" He asked

Now he speaks...

"We need to finish up on the project. We pretty much have the whole thing done, so we just have to make some touch ups." "Let's get to it then." Then he winked...

This kid knew how to make my cheeks set fire.

After an hour of touching up on the poster board, we stepped back and soaked in all of the good work we've accomplished. "It looks really great." Hayden said. The awkward silence filled the room.

"I'm back from the grocery store!" His dad shouted through the house. Hayden stood up to help his dad, while j let out a shaky breath. Why am I so nervy?
~~~
Tonight was tumbling practice and we got to see who made it into the competition. "Come on, Ama! We are going to be late!" Josie shouted up the stairs. I was fixing my hair because right when I came home everyone was about to leave for tumble. I found my black bow and my bag and ran down the stairs and locked the door.
"You totally got in." Rachel said in her with out a doubt voice, "I don't know, Ray. What if I didn't? Jordan was telling me all the bad things I was doing and it felt like a ton." Rachel laughed, "Ams, they are supposed to point out what you're doing wrong so you can improve." "But he didn't say anything good about what I was doing. I have a bad feeling about this." "Calm your self, and believe you will get in! I know you will make it." She held my shaking hands and tumble practice started.
Tumbling practice wasn't the same. I messed up much more than I usually do. Jordan and the helpers were always calling on me. "Ama, why are you messing up so much? This isn't like you. Do you need to take a break?" "Yes please."
I walked over to the water fountain and took a quick drink.
What's wrong with you, Ama? This isn't like you. He's right. Why are you acting this way? Is it just because I am nervous about cheer?
I continued tumble practice, but something still felt off. Rachel and I sat down and sipped out of our water bottles. "Hey," Rachel said, packing her things "let's see who made it in." I nodded. We gathered our things and walked to the cork board in the front of the gym. A group of girls surrounded the board, making it harder for us to get there. Rachel and I held hands so we wouldn't be separated, "Don't let go!" She said.
We got to the board and the crowd died down. "I can't look. You look for me." I said, covering my face. "Ok. Stay here." She said. She traced her finger down the list and stopped. Her eyes widened and she started jumping up and down. "I got in!"
What if I don't get in?
