I ran to the mirror to brush my hair and tie it up into a ponytail. I tidied up my room a bit and finished right when I heard a knock on my door.

"It's fine if you don't want to come. I'll be back in an hour." She closed the door and I heard: "Oh! Hayden! She's in her room."
Hayden came in with a pack of skittles and his satchel.
"Ah! Skittles!" I jumped up and tried to snatch it. He held the box high above bus head were I couldn't touch it. "You have to do your homework first."
What are you? My mom?
"Why should I?" I folded my arms
"Skittles, me, and caramel." He dug into his bag and pulled out a bag of caramel.
"Fine. But you're helping me."
"You spelled 'of' wrong." He pointed out.
