Ama POV
My breathing was heavy and I ran out onto the stage.
This was it! Last performance of the cheer season. School had ended just yesterday and I made the good grades I wanted. But now, I only focused on the routine. I had practiced it hundreds and hundreds of times. We had to get it.
I got in my position and smiled. I looked out into the crowd and saw my family and friends. They held up a banner that said:
Ama Tumbler Queen.
I saw Hayden smile with Lucas and Sarah by his side.
Hayden always talked and always smiled. A full smile. He always had his sleeves rolled up and you could see his scars. He was truly happy.
The music started and the routine went on.
~
All the teenagers sat in a booth at Gondolier. We were celebrating our win in 2nd.
I thought we were going to make 1st. Maybe next year. All of us were smiling and laughing. Talking about the routine and what we were going to do over the summer. Lucas and Sarah were going to visit some relatives for a few weeks and Rachel was going to Hawaii for a month.
I was going to stay in my house with my family and Hayden was going to stay aswell.~
Hayden dropped me off at my house along with everyone else since we all lived in the same neighborhood.
"I'll see ya tomorrow." I smiled
"See ya tomorrow." I turned to go inside but he grabbed my wrist and turned my around. He placed a light peck on my cheek and he waved and left.Silly.
I run upstairs changed into the overly large sweatshirt I forgot to give back to Hayden, some sweats and collapsed on my bed.
I tried to sleep, but it didn't come.
I tossed and turned and almost fell out of bed.
I looked at my phone and it was 2:46 in the morning. I opened my phone and checked all my social media. I looked through everything (which was a heck of a lot) and I looked though my old pictures.
I had way too many screenshots and too many selfies. The thing that caught my eyes though was the picture of Lucas, Sarah, Hayden, Rachel and I at the Olive Garden. It was the first competition of the season.
One of the things I noticed was Hayden was quite pale in the picture. Now he is actually very tan. He looks healthier and more happy.
I put my phone down and stared out the window.
Yup I can't do this.
I grabbed my backpack and grabbed some extra clothes. I found a post-it-note, wrote a small message and jumped out the door.
I walked by the flower shop and found a little can infront that said free flowers. There were only a few so I picked a rose, lily, and another colorful flower I couldn't name.
I entered though the iron gate and traveled to the waterfall.
In the moonlight, I could see a figure sitting next to the tree sleeping. Next to him was his journal. I opened it and saw a picture of girl, sitting on a brick wall looking out at the moon. By this point, I was confident that that girl was me."Hey." I jumped.
Hayden was looking up at my and raising an eyebrow in amusement.
"Why are you here?" He sat up and scrunched his legs up to his chin.
"I couldn't sleep. I knew you were here because you're always here."
"Smart as usual.""Next year's our Junior year. What do you think it'll be like?"
"More homework, harder lessons, but we will still achieve what we need to achieve."
"I hope it won't be screwed up."
"It won't."The last thing I remembered was the stars shinning and shooting across the night sky, and I was taken away by sleep.
A/N: Man...that was a terrible epilogue...I AM SO SORRY!
