december 14th
Rose was at Stephanie's house, trying to chill before her date.
"This is so weird..." Rose said after taking a deep breath.
"But did he really ask you on a date or just to hang out?"
"See it with your own eyes." Rose handing Steph her phone.
«Cameron»
What are you going to do later ?
Nothing, why ?
Come on a date with me,
What ? A date ?
Yes, unless there's something
else you would prefer to do,I'm just confused...
At 7pm I'll pick you up,
Is it okay?Yeah...what should I wear ?
It's whatever, wear something comfortable,
you'll look beautiful anyway,
See you soon,"He called you beautiful..." Stephanie said with a small smirk. "Shit is getting serious...How do you feel about this?"
"He's so nice and a really good friend. I already feel bad for using him while he's my friend...I can't even think about how bad would I feel if...you know."
"What if Cameron was just Cameron and not the Cameron Dallas ?"
"But he isn't just Cameron. He's the son of a motherfucker that is totally sick."
"It isn't his fault Rose...I see you guys walking around in high school, it's not the same. You don't look at him now like you looked in September. Try to forget that he's a Dallas."
"I can't Steph! I only have like a month. I'll be only with him for a month, then it will be over."
"Why ?"
"Because...I have to go Steph." Rose said getting up from the couch and then grabbed her bag.
"Oh come on Rose...Give him a chance, don't let that stop you from living."
"I am living..."
"Not correctly. Today, please forget who he is. Don't give up, keep doing what you have to do but don't let him go."
"I...I really have to go Steph..." Rose said with a small smile.
Rose left Steph's house driving in direction of her neighborhood while somewhere, Cameron was also getting ready for his date.
He placed his phone inside his pocket and left his room while putting his leather jacket on.
"Julia..." He called and she immediately walked out of the kitchen.
"Yes Cameron ?" She asked cleaning her wet hands against her apron.
"Do you have the roses?" He asked and she nodded.
She walked back into the kitchen and then walked out once again, this time with a bouquet of red roses in her hands. She handed him the flowers and he looked at her.
"How do I look ?"
Julia adjusted his jacket and then smiled.
"You look great...She's special, isn't she ?"
"She's just a friend Julia..." Cameron replied chuckling.
"Oh by the way, your dad said that he wanted to see you." Julia said and he rolled his eyes.
"Where is he?"
"In his office, like always."
"Thank you." Cameron said and then kissed the top of her head. "Wish me luck!"
Cameron quickly walked in direction of his dad's office, knocking before opening the door.
"Cameron..." His dad said smiling when he saw him. "Where are you going ?"
"I'm going on a date and it's getting late."
"Are you and Kelsey back together ?" His dad asked confused but Cameron shook his head.
"I'm not going with Kelsey. I'm going with Rose." Cameron answered and his dad's smile got wider.
"Oh I see what you're doing...I'm proud of you son." He said chuckling lightly. "Don't forget to make her a lot of questions about her neighborhood."
"No dad."
"No what?" His dad asked, confused once again.
"I'm not going to make her any question about her neighborhood."
"Then why are you going on a date with her ?"
"I wanna get to know her better. I wanna get to know Rose and not the girl from that neighborhood that you love!"
"You're not going anywhere then."
"Bye dad, see you later!" Cameron said before closing the door, leaving behind his dad screaming his name.
Cameron walked out of his house and got into his car, placing the roses on the passenger seat. He checked the hours and he was a little bit late.
Rose kept walking around in her room, nervously. "I knew it...he was joking." She thought to herself.
"Rose, someone's here for you." Her mom called from downstairs.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck...!" She mumbled searching for her bag.
When she finally found it, she picked it up and looked at herself in the mirror one last time.
She walked downstairs and her mom was there waiting for her.
"Who is he?" She immediately asked.
"He's a friend mom."
"A friend doesn't give you a huge bouquet of red roses for no reason."
"What?" Rose asked confused and her mom took a few steps to the right.
Rose immediately saw Cameron, holding the bouquet with one hand while the other was inside his jeans pocket.
"Oh my God..." She mumbled covering her mouth. She quickly walked next to him and he handed her the roses. "They're so beautiful."
"You're more." He whispered and she looked at him smiling.
"Mom, can you take care of them please ?" Rose asked while her mom walked next to them.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Cameron, I forgot to introduce myself." He said extending his hand and Rose's mom shook it lightly. "We have classes together and your daughter has been helping me a lot with Maths. You have a great daughter, congrats."
"Thank you." She said picking the roses. "You seem like a good kid...have fun. But careful, I see you !"
"Mom!" Rose said and Cameron laughed.
"It's okay and don't worry." Cameron said with a smile.
Rose kissed her mom's cheek and they walked outside.
Rose kept thinking about what Stephanie said and tonight...Cameron is just Cameron. The Cameron that she likes.
