Chapter 3

I was laying in my bed listening to music on phone when all of a sudden the doorbell rang. I was curious to see who the first person to come over would be considering we just moved in. I raced down the stairs and jumped to the door. When I opened the door a woman and her child was starring back at me.

"Hi , I'm Ryan. I'm guessing you're the neighbors, right? I said while extending out my hand.

The woman smiled and shook my hand. The she began to speak, "Yes, my name is Elizabeth Grier but you can just call me Elizabeth."Her daughter looked up at her and motion Elizabeth to introduce the you girl.

"This is Skylynn. She's a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable with you she will talk your ear off."

Looking at the two neighbors I escorted them to the kitchen where my parents stood.

"Mom, Dad, this is Elizabeth and Skylynn." I said signaling my parents to get talking with Elizabeth.

I sat at the kitchen table texting some old friends from Pennsylvania while listening to the adults speak. I over heard Elizabeth invite my family over for dinner and my parents accepting the offer.

Skylynn walked over to me with an adorable smile and asked "Do you have any toys in your room?"

I smiled back and replied with a yes. Skylynn was opening up to me. I carried her up the steps, and into my room where I let her play with some old stuffed animals.

About an hour passed until Elizabeth and Skylynn left. I walked downstairs to ask my parents what their plans were. I was told we were eating over the Grier's tonight and that I would have to pull myself together. I ran upstairs to tell my older brother and younger sister the same thing.
