Chapter 4

It was about 5:30 when I started to get ready to go to my neighbors. I didn't care much to look nice considering I only knew that a four year old lived there, and I wasn't trying to impress her. I put on a Penn State t-shirt and some short shorts. My hair was a mess, so I put it in a fishtail braid. I had very little make up on and I was ready to go.

I walked into the family room and plopped down on the couch. I was waiting for everyone to be ready to leave. I grabbed my phone out of my back pocket, put headphones in, and started listening to music. I laid down and closed my eyes, tuning out the world. I was tuned back in when my sister shook me.

"Time to go.", She yelled while skipping over to the door to get her shoes.

Following Jessica I to put on my shoes. It was my white flip flops that put my outfit together making me look somewhat nice. My brother Jake joined us at the door, and we waited for our parents. Five minutes later we all left the house, and started walking over to the neighbor's house.

Once we were all one the front porch, Jake leaned forward to ring the door bell. The five of us waited until someone answered the door. A tall man with dark hair opened the door.

"You must be the neighbors! Hey, everyone I'm Johnny. You guys already met Elizabeth." The man said.

We all greeted Johnny and walked inside the house. I looked around comparing it to my new house, trying to picture my stuff here. The five of us went into the kitchen where Elizabeth had snacks and drinks out for us.

Skylynn came running towards me opening her arms up for a hug. I smiled and hugged her back. My younger sister looked over to see if Skylynn was her age; she was at least five years younger.

"Will you come upstairs and play horsey with me?", Skylynn asked in a sweet persuading voice. Of course I crumbled.

"I'll play only if you let my little sister Jessica play too." Jessica smiled at me because I was being a good big sister.

"Okay, I have plenty of horses and I like when people play with me.", Skylynn peeped

Skylynn led us upstairs to her room. I looked around in the hallway noticing three other bedrooms. I just assumed they were all guest bedrooms. We walked into Skylynn's room where I found a swing right in the middle of it. Skylynn grabbed three horses for all of us to play.

I started to have the need to pee. I didn't exactly know where the bathroom was, so I had to ask Skylynn.

"Hey Skylynn, where is your bathroom.", I asked. She took me out into the hallway and pointed to a room on the right side of the hallway. I walked into the room where there was a tall boy standing in the middle. It was then that I realized I walked into another kid's room.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Skylynn told me this was your bathroom.", The boy started laughing. I stood there a bit shaky and started to giggle.

"Ohhh Skylynn, that sounds just like her. I'm Nash and the bathroom is the next door. I didn't know we had company."

I nodded and walked to the bathroom where I was finally able to pee. Now to find my way back to Skylynn's room.

Her door was left open so it was quite easy to find.

When I walked in I saw Nash and another boy standing there. The boy turned around and starred into my eyes. He came over to me and started to speak.

"Hi I'm Hayes, you must be Ryan. Skylynn was talking about you when she came back from your house.", he said with a cute southern accent.

"Yep. That's me. How old are you guys anyway?", I asked out of curiosity.

Hayes responded, "I'm thirteen and Nash is sixteen."

"Wow, your my age and Nash is Jake's age. Jake is downstairs if you would like to talk to him." I said

"Why don't I go downstairs and see him. You kids can hangout." Nash said walking down the steps
