Mind the Madness

I don't sleep at night, I'm too busy giving into
everything
You must be patient with me, I am so many
wicked things
I will eat you up
You must understand, I am not what you think
I am not even me
I am otherworldly in such ugly ways, I don't
think you could carry the weight of it
And if I'm being honest, it is a frightening,
disturbing, hideous thing
to really see me
I hear voices from inside me saying such
crooked things
And I think
well this must be me, I'm quite unsteady
And you will never understand how thoroughly
I wish to dismantle myself
I think I find ecstasy in agony
can you fathom such a thing?

You must mind my madness
it is a lurking monstrosity
It is the other side of me
It is what I lie with at night, in darkened hours
when my mind cracks open my skull and
runs wildly about
So if you find yourself near me, be sure to
watch for a terrible beast
I am a cannibal, and always so endlessly
hungry
I am never full, never satisfied
Please do not stand so close to me, I will eat
you whole and drink you dry and
Hell knows I will still be empty
You will not be enough
I am a horrible collector of human beings
I collect people the way some people collect
things.

Please do not stand so close to me, I can't take
the scent of you
I can't warn you fast enough, I can't save you
from me
I can't offer you anything
I am not made for this world, I am not made
like you
You must understand, I am so many

many

wicked

things.
