I'm drawing breath,
Slowly invading my lungs,
I take this inside of me,
The way I took you in,
Carelessly,
Purposefully,
I string out this beating heart,
All of your dead memories,
Collect in it's gutters,
I rake them up,
And lay them out,
But they're empty to me now.The sound is beautiful,
I know,
A melancholy vibration,
It's just pulsing through,
Like the echo your voice leaves,
In your empty chest,
But I remember you,
You're like the dry leaves,
Crumpled and bitter,
I pull you up,
And lay you out,
But you're empty to me now.
