Love Soldiers

We are the love soldiers,
We fight until the end,
We'll fight until we die,
Bruised and broken we never give in,
No telling who will survive,
Our breaking hearts spill blood onto soil,
Bullets ricochet in our empty chests,
Our blind objective's foiled,
But we march on doing our best,
Our armor binds and breaks,
Our weapons are of mass destruction,
We'll do whatever it takes,
Building tanks and missiles in mass production,
We are the love soldiers.

Fighting a bloody war,
Each death making us colder,
Our lives are what we're fighting for,
Who cares what love is?
This is life or death,
There's nothing to believe in,
We keep marching on without rest,
The poison gas floods our trenches,
We hold our breath and run into battle,
The explosions tear through our defenses,
Our love songs fill the silence like prattle,
We are the love soldiers.

Building our armies with broken hearts,
Carrying the world on our shoulders,
Igniting fires to warm the dark,
We're breaking them down now,
All of the broken hearted,
We try to reconstruct somehow,
Forgetting how this all started,
What's the point in fighting a pointless war?
When it's just love we're fighting for?
We used to know what hearts were,
When we were naïve children wanting more,
Now we send off the missiles in a blur,
And forget what we're living for,
The bullets leave exit wounds,
When our hearts give in,
We fall blindly like hopeless fools,
The rhythm of a romantic hymn,
We are the love soldiers.

Filling the battlegrounds,
And growing older,
Tearing through what keeps us bound,
We pick up our guns and march on,
Fighting for a world we can't conceive,
We scream our war-cry like a love song,
We fight for something beautiful,
Hoping to save our wondering souls,
And pour our hearts into a new world,
We are the love soldiers
