Forgotten Spaces

Maybe I'm just small enough to slip away,
into forgotten spaces,
somewhere where you don't know my name,
floating through the open dark,
painting nova explosions,
filling up all the empty parts.
There are so many sleepless nights,
to keep me awake,
flying away into outer space.

Maybe I'm small enough to slip from memory,
gone somewhere where the world
doesn't see me,
well I'm not so interesting,
not like the passing stars,
and all their burning hearts,
not like the ignited sun,
and its passionate light,
I'm just passing by,
struggling to captivate a life,
but I'm not big enough,
to light up the sky,
I'm the forgotten satellite ,
passing by,
too light and fast to stay,
just flying away into outer space.

Maybe I'm light enough,
to fall from your heart,
swimming between the galaxies,
where no one knows me,
I'm passing through atmospheres,
feeling the rain and heat,
like a fallen star,
burning apart,
hoping to crash into the sea,
but I'm falling out again,
into the forgotten spaces,
where super novas
and white dwarfs,
paint the sky in iridescent death,
I'm passing through all of their light,
thinking about the color of your eyes.

Maybe I'm small enough to slip away,
flying into outer space,
falling through the dark matter,
somewhere where I can't see your face,
Maybe you will see me passing by,
giving off the glow of a brilliant star,
exploding somewhere in your night sky,
but I don't think you'll be looking,
I'm just a satellite,
heading toward the forgotten spaces
