I'd follow you down
like a perfect ghost,
a love-soaked silhouette,
just a shadow in the dark,
I remember everything you are to me,
Like delicate fractures in thin glass,
I feel your weight on me,
I carry you with me everywhere I go,
and I carry you with me in my sleep. My arms stretch around your canvas,
searching the dark for your heart,
my fingers carving into you,
tearing the threads at your seams,
unraveling you,
You stop for a moment as if you feel me,
or maybe hear my whispers somewhere in the quiet,
but it's only a second's hesitation,
then you go on not seeing me,
I feel your weight grow heavier upon me,
until I'm drowning in your sea.I delve blindly into you,
searching for something,
The cruelest thing I find,
is that there's nothing,
I beg for something inside you,
but you're empty,
I swim in this void,
remembering who we used to be,
I stretch around you, encompassing you,
feeling the edges in your design,
floating away into your vacancy. If I could find a flame to ignite the dark,
and paint its light
across the curves of your soul,
then maybe I'd know you,
then maybe I'd love you,
I'd find a place for your heart,
and carve out its perfect shape,
if I could find it,
I'd stitch its beating flesh together like a child's doll,
if it were beating,
I'd feel the warmth of its blood,
if it had any,
I'd string my passion around your soul,
if you loved me
