Eleven years later
Allen grew into a fine young lad. Adored by those around him and envied by those bellow him.
He had a colorful childhood, filled with his parents love and adoration. He was blessed."ALLEN!! WHERE IN THE BLAZIN' WORLD 'RE YA!" Harold called out for his son. Funny thing is, as fine as the lad could be, his young mind was off with dreams of travel and adventure. Unfortunately, as the alphas son he could not but from time to time he would run off and flee from his duties as his fathers heir and feel nature surrounds him without care. His father on the other hand becomes worried sick looking out for his son.
"Harold, shut up! You're gonna disturb the whole pack!!" Lisa scolded her husband.
"How can I woman, yeah? when yer son is ou' when his 'bout ta 'ave his first shift ba midnight!?"
"You worry too much. Its only 4:00pm. Its hours before his sixteenth birthday. What could happen?" Harold sighed heavily at his mates remark. True, perhaps he was just being paranoid but it is his first shift. Werewolves first shifts at the age of sixteen. Around this time, they would be able to feel their wolves as their own flesh for the first time. Its incredibly painful. Like your bones cracking, being dislocated. Harold shuddered at the memory of his first shift.
A grin was plastered from Lisa's face. Oh how she loved her mate when he shows concern towards their pup. They did their best to raise him as their own. Taught him everything they know. They tried to find the childs parents for years but unfortunately, it was futile. Since there was no missing child report, they decided to adopt him instead. At first, Harold was extremely reluctant about having the boy. He even refused to even carry him but the boy grew on him. One night when Lisa had to run a favor, she left Allen at her mates capable hands. Oh, the horror he had on his face that day. After hours and hours of being away when Lisa got home, to her surprise, Allen was sleeping soundly on the arms of her mate. The next day, he turned a new leaf and became a doting father to allen.
"might you be worried 'bout tha' lad! Where does he disappears of ta anywe'?" Lisa came and sat on her worried sick mates lap. " His by the waterfall at our west side territory." Harolds eyebrows creased and turned into one straight line. "Ya traitor. I've been screamin' me lungs ou' for tha boy and ya tellin' me tha now?" Lisa chuckled and gave her mate a tender kiss. "yeah, you've been screaming alright but you never asked."
"Why I'd atta--!!" Harold started smothering his wife with kisses. Lisa squealed and ran off to God knows where.
"Psh. Women!" A devilish grin ran across harolds lips then he followed his cheeky wife to whatever she was up to.
Meanwhile...
The water felt so nice on his skin. It was blazing hot since summer had already started. He spent his time soaking himself with the wonders of nature around him. As a werewolf, he loved being in the wild but this place... This was his sanctuary. His father made him a treehouse nearby. He would always come here when he had something on his mind. Like his anxiety about his first shift for example. Suddenly, He heard a twig snap. Someones here.
He got up from his floating trance and went on land to see who paid him a visit.
"Looky here, mates! Why! If it ain't the boy wonder himself! Allen, dear cousin, mind if we join ya?" Sarcasm was heard from the young mans tongue.
Kallum, his eldest cousin was the next in line as alpha until he came along. kallum utterly despise him for that. It was no secret to him that he was adopted. His cousin would remind him everyday that he didn't deserve the title because he was not of their blood. Lisa, his mother got furious at kallum when she heard about Allen finding about the truth without hearing it from them. Lets just say, what happened wasn't a pretty sight.
"Oh hello, Kallum and friends. How nice of you to grace me with the presence of your ugly faces."
Kallums face fumed at his nasty compliment. "Why you little runt!" They would always fight. Well, more like he'd get beaten up by his cousin and leaves him with bruises. The cursed mouth he had always got him into trouble. Kallum was bigger, older and stronger. Naturally, He'd get the upper hand but no... Allen was much much stronger. In an actual battlefield Kallum wouldn't stand a chance against him. He just didn't like the idea of fighting for no good reasons. The friends slash underlings came and held firmly on his arms. "Hey, I didn't know you require six arms for a one on one fight." Said Allen while struggling from their hold.
"Now where would be the fun in that?" kallun smirked at his victory. Seeing his cousin... Ahh... It was utterly despicable in kallums point of view on how a runt like him became his cousin, let alone the next alpha of his pack.
He raised his hands, getting ready to connect his fists on his smart ass cousin when...
"Yer lucky today, cuz. Uncle Harolds calling a pack meeting right now." The three let him go and ran towards the direction of the pack house. Allen sighed heavily. Saved by the Bell. Odd? his father mindlinked everyone to have a pack meeting at this hour?
Mindlinking is a werewolfs telepathic ability to communicate with each other. Though heightened senses, extraordinary strength and fast healing abilities are born with, mindlinking and special gifts are accumulated only after your first shift but gifts on the other hand are given only to those with stronger blood. He heard his phone vibrate so he went to the tree house to look for it. "Aha!" a message from his mother.
'sweety come home already. Your dad is throwing tantrums asking for you. Hurry home. -mom"
He smiled at the message his mother sent. The only reason he put up with peope like Kallum is because of his mother and father. Oh how much he loves them.
He made his way down the treehouse and went straight home.
